My first Sr20det swap-
To the experienced in sr20det swaps:
Hey guys I have a few questions that I have searched for and haven't found the results I was looking for.. I listed them in an order, please answer what you can in as much detail, I really appreciate your time gentlemen. A) Can i utilize a stock '90 s13 PS reservoir and lines on an S13 SR power steering pump? I know the damn power steering reservoir has to be moved over. If not what do I need to get? B) Do i need anything extra for the heater hoses to run behind the motor to give it a cleaner look? C) I havn't purchased the SR yet, but to adapt the USDM a/c lines to the SR a/c compressor what must I do? Is there anywhere I can purchase premade lines? D) When I look at the KA24E wire harness it goes into the firewall, at first, ajoining with another harness. Do i just unravel the engine harness from where it ajoins to the other harness) and pull it straighto outta the firewall? Please answer in as much detail as possible. E) Will the KA Transmission Harness plug right into the SR20DET Wiring Harness? F) I have a 91 gauge cluster, is there anything else I need to do for my tach to work ? Again, thank you! C) AC dosnt seem to be a common thing for SR20s for wahtever reason but its not a hard thing to do. Custom lines will do it, OR you can actually use your stock AC system including the pump from the KA. You can bolt the KA AC pump onto the SR but only two bolt holes line up. It seems liek to easiest way.

I learned this the hard way. You can put together your own kit and save $15. Search my posts for heater hose part numbers. |

Chris C welded up something on the exhaust which later cracked, me and a guy named Chris (won't give his last name out) worked on my rhd 240 with me.. it was his garage so unfortunately we moved at his pace. he did wiring for the SR and "welding" (with a cheapass $100 welder). The welds later started breaking and other various problems started happening.. everything else we did together Thanks guys Last edited by sepulchral; 07-25-2006 at 04:13 AM.. |
