The 10,000$ question.

So I have built and had lots of cars, mainly nissans, but I'm not sure that's the route I wanna go. So I'm asking you if you had 10k what would you do? Maybe it will help me gain some clarity. Thanks for your input.

Maybe cars are not for you because you've had a lot of cars and yet you don't know what you want. Now again you have money and you need other people's opinion on what to do with it. I can tell you one thing, I don't need anybodies help to know exactly what I want with my car or what car to get next maybe just tips to get the results I desire from someone with more experience.

I don't want to be an ass but maybe you should take your 10k and take a trip around the world and find that clarity. Also why would you want opinions of a nissan based forum if you dont want a nissan? Doesn't make sense to me but good luck.

Well I have a 05 tl daily, and what I was implying is it doesn't have to be a Nissan. And the question was what would you do with it, not what it should do with it.

Get a 1985 Toyota Celica GT-S. Rebuild the engine (simple SOHC, cheap) and supercharge it to 200HP. Replace rear suspension with 1984 Supra's.

And Rally Cross the car competitively. =P

I concur. One of my friends took $10k with him and stayed in Japan for 90 days. Attended both Comiket and Tokyo Auto Salon, made "nice" friends with Japanese girls, sight seeing, etc.

I'm planning on a 1 month backpacking trip in Europe myself. The experience will either make you a better person or re-think your priorities in life.

this thread is stupid. 10k wont buy you anything good. If 10k will buy you what you want you either have some low standards for builds or just dont care to do it right.

10k is clearly capable of building a car with a v8 and godspeed and drifting it.

With that said, id put that as down payment on a FRS.

Definitely think traveling is worth it. Just got back from a 1 month backpacking trip around western europe...all in all I spent about $2,700 and I know I could've gotten away with spending less

Back on topic, I personally would get another nb mx5, the suspension trim, and turbo it

my old one:

They feel like go-karts

A cold air intake, t3 turbo and a stand-alone engine management system wouldn't be a bad way to spend 10 grand.

buy 2-3 of the cleanest, stock, unmolested S-chassis you can find and store them for 5 years. by then, the stupid fanboys will have destroyed almost all of the cleaner S-chassis making yours very valuable.

or start a nice 66 mustang build. my buddy just built a 65 falcon body ranchero with a nice little 302 in it making about 450hp and he must have spent maybe $5000 including chassis. granted the motor and trans set cost him about $500 but, if you want to build an awesome small block for under $1700 like he did, thats the way to go. you will learn sooooooo much more.

I've always wanted to get into the older American car scene. It seems like you get more power for dollar, handling suffers though lol

Not really.

It's stupid easy to make power and there is a limitless supply of suspension parts.

Full after market subframes, double wishbone conversions ect.

I think S-chasis owners will be shocked when they see what clean chassis go for or the amount of fabrication needed to bring rust buckets back from the grave. Foxs go for $3-6k for a clean example anymore.
