I know i've read about plenty of people having similar issues when not running an actual Nissan Z32 MAF, especially over on SXOC. Maybe try to borrow a known good working MAF to try it out with.
I've had sporadic AFR issues from a bad ground before, the main battery ground on the body side had loosened up due to a stripped out hole. I know you checked your MAF ground, but check out your other major ones too. |

Good luck. That's why I don't like mail order rom tunes. Too much waiting and paying for shipping if u gotta ship it back and you still gotta do a dyno run each time to make sure it runs right.

In regard to the crack and that hole on the manifold, it would be on your end (as said in PM). The cracks are actually common to the point that I've seen them on plenty of Manifolds, to include FWD ones. It becomes even more prevelent with the extrude hone process due to material removed.
Having had quite a few of them this way without any issue (crack and small hole), to include my personal car, my roomates car, and many others, I wouldn't worry too much about it. With that said, if it were to crack and fall into the turbo, I don't want my words to stand as any promise/garuntee either...as I'm not any sort of engineer or materials expert.

Many manifolds are not designed with the weight of the exhaust system/turbocharger in mind. For a given exhaust manifold, the best possible configuration is one in which the turbocharger and all of its associated hardware, including downpipe and compressor outlet, is all supported by the engine via brackets. The purpose of the exhaust manifold is to direct the exhaust gasses- NOT to support the entire weight of the exhaust system!
Thats the #1 reason aftermarket manifolds fail, improper installation, i.e. improper support. Think about the twisting motion of the engine- think about how everytime you mash the pedal the manifold is being wrenched in every which direction against the weight bolted to it. There is a reason that even the factory includes a support brace for the OEM downpipe, and utilizes such a beefy casting to begin with. |

Quick question guys before I go tuning this car tomorrow. Car is a simple sti injector, jwt mail order, z32, 255, and an safc. How strong are the stock timing tables? Since I dont have to remove alot of fuel the timing shouldn't be too crazy. My question is how hard can the s15 t28 be pushed?
Im going to add some race gas to ensure no knock during tuning but I wanted to take it up to 24psi to get the wot tune set then back it down to about 18 unless Im at the track or something. Im just asking have people seen good longevity out of these turbos on that kinda boost. Once I get 750's and e85 it will only get worse for the turbo lol. |

I also have a race coming up this week and a freddy intake manifold sitting in my room, and im trying to decide would it be worth the hassle to put it on and how much would it screw with the tune? I also want to know should I ditch this crappy tubular manifold and go back to the stock cast piece? |

Post your graph
Was this a power pull, shootout or tuning? Tuning you should have noticed a boostleak or even inconsistent boost which would have made any tuner stop and look under the hood even if he/she not a mechanic. Try to get base pull from like 11psi So how many pulls did you make? And when you go back set the wastegate to 13-14psi if your running 17 + psi.

Made about 16 pulls. It wasnt Inconsistent it spiked and settled the same every time. I just went to smooth the car out.
Looking at this graph I can see the car made shit power. Freddy manifold, thorough boost leak test, and adjusting the wastegate actuator, and putting the stock exhaust manifold on the car. Hope it holds 300whp and makes the same tq. |

Does anybody know if the compressor housing on the s15 turbo is interchangeable with the 2871r housing? I just picked up a 2871 and it is set up with the universal housing and I want to make it direct bolt on to my current setup.

the external dimentions are the same, but the inlet is smaller on the S15 turbo. I doubt the 2871R compressor wheel will fit.
http://m.facebook.com/profile.php?__..._user=68118519 One is a 2871r, other is the 28r

People help me get to a 10.9! I work for and drive for a shop and we tested a new simple setup. This is on stock suspension and 26'' et streets. The best 60' of the day was only a 1.8 because we were playing with the tire pressures. the fastest pass of the day was an 11.6 and 120. The setup is:
Legit jdm 96 s14 stock vtc sr stock t28 50 ish shot of nitrous (bottle pressure was terrible) Would only hold 15-17 psi to 7k (needs to hold 20) Do you guys think with good bottle pressure and it holding 20psi and a 1.6 60ft would net a 10.9? |

Well the car was running this same turbo on 18psi for about a year then sat for awhile now is back running on the car because of boost control issues. When checked there was no abnormal shaft play. I don't call death on the turbo. As long as there is quality oil in the car the turbo should hold that fine. The same reason my s13 made 267/310 on a t25 and is still running fine.
