Zilvia, I REALLY need your help! Ichiba 5 lug swap issues. Can't get old hub off!

Ok so I really need some help. I have ichiba 5 lug hubs. I'm working on the rear right now. Its an s13. I can NOT get the old hub off. I took off all the brake stuff, took off the axle nut, took out the 4 bolts on the back, and it will NOT budge, at all, period. It must be so effin rusted on there I dont even know what to do. I pulled on it, pried on it, everything. I soaked it in wd40 when I was done messing with it tonight to let it sit overnight. Is there something I'm missing? Or is it just rusted solid? The only thing thats holding it on is the axle nut and the 4 bolts right? I tried for hours to get it out, and not even the slightest little movement. PLEASE HELP! I'd say get a BFH but I dont wanna mess anything up...

air hammer thinger (i think its called an air hammer?)

thats what we used when we did mine. just work around the rim with an air hammer and it will slowly slide out.

yup, BFH. It's what you need. here is what i did.

1) Take the 4 bolts you just took out of the back holding the hub on the assembly or two kitty corner to each other.

2) Screw them all in partially. remember just like 3 full turns or enough so you know they arent gonna fall out.

3) Now get the hammer and hit on the heads of each bolt. I only used 2 kitty corner. you should be able to get them out with a regular hammer, its what i used.

It's super easy and shouldnt damage the hub or anything.

I'll give the idea w/ the bolts a try first. Then I guess if that doesn't work, try to find an air chisel/air hammer/air whatever lol thanks guys!

it will come out really slow. make sure to position yourself so you can get some solid hits on the bolt heads. do like 3 hits on each side at a time. then once it starts moving out try and fit a pry bar in between the hub and the upright

Yeah sometimes it can really get rusted/seized on there.
I remember just soaking the F out of mine in PB Blaster and give it a few whacks with a solid hammer. It will take a few attempts to get it loose.

oh, some PB blaster couldn't hurt either.... spray it around where the hub meets the rear upright.

I just hit the top with a hammer, and then tap the bottom after to make it wiggle back and forth like a loose tooth, with enough hitting you can get it to jiggle out.

Or you could use a hub puller, which is also suggested...

If you're not using or keeping the old hubs, beat the hell out of it. Several good hits to the hub will loosen anything that may be holding it. Don't worry about damaging the upright, you don't have enough man in you to do that. No one does, unless you're driving into a curb at 45MPH.

thanks guys I appreciate it! I actually got a air hammer in between them and popped them off. SO...I got them off, got the new ones all, and realize both back calipers are seized. SUNUFFABICHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! lol AND! that the 5 lug lexus wheels I have, the center hole isn't big enough to fit over the center of the hub lol. So now I gotta get new rear calipers (or rebuild them) and figure out a way to open up the holes in the wheels. one problem after another lol. Good news though, whole it was all apart I got my coilovers on!

Rear calipers are always seized, it's a fact of life. if they aren't they will be in week.

Toyota hub bore is like 64.6mm vs. Nissan at 66.1mm. The Lexus wheels also probably have a very high offset and won't clear the coilovers up front.

yea for the time being I'm just gonna run either 50 or 60mm studs and spacers till I can get better wheels.
