Nismo 2 way lsd
I just purchased a used nismo 2way lsd on ebay, i was told that it was possibly from a abs vehicle, can anyone confirm that this could still fit into a non abs s14 pumpkin and what modifications would needed. Your help is much appreciated, thank you.

Does the housing have a pigtail on the snout? If it does, its an ABS housing. Personally, I would just find a shorter ABS driveshaft for your S14 and just use that diff as is.

If you can't find another driveshaft just swap it in the correct pumpkin. Not that hard at all, just go by FSM and make sure your backlash is good and done deal. I've taken my differential apart a couple times swapping internals and pumpkins. There's enough how-to threads out there too.
Also if you just mean if the LSD will fit in a non-abs pumpkin despite coming in an abs pumpkin, the answer is yes. No difference. ABS differentials are just slightly longer to accommodate for the ABS sensor at the end. Internally, they're the same. i.e. I took a VLSD unit from an ABS equipped car and threw it into my non-abs/open differerntial's pumpkin without any issues. |
