Sr20det timing jumped

Hello guys,

So today i took of valve cover to change my lifters and install rocker arms stoppers on my redtop.

I set pulley on TDC and dots on the cams were correct.

After taking off the chain tensioner i did my mistake and moved a little the chain over the cam . Made a sound, it was like the chain was pulled down and it jumped one tooth.

Now the mark on the exhaust side is one tooth off and i couldnt bring it back by hand.

Is there an "easy" way to fix this ? I guess i have to take off oil pans pulley alternator oil pump and all the rest to set the timing again on the crank?

What what no no. You don’t have to do all that shit.

You don’t even need the marks on the chain to set timing on a SR.

Lossen the cam caps and put a socket on the cam nut and turn the cam where the chain jumped to line up with the Cam gear dot. Count 20 chain link pins in between the dots and make sure the crank is on the second dot from the left. Boom your at 15 degrees.

Or you could take both cams off and set them by hand again the chain marks aren’t needed.

Put the exhaust cam dowell at 12 o’clock. The intake cam dowell at 10 o’clock. The first lobe for each cam should be pointing out. Put the crank second the left. Put the chain on cam gears and count 20 link pins in between the cam gear dots.

Oh yea stab the CAS and line the dots up after you’ve done all that. The CAS bolts should line up centered. Not cocked to either side

Done
