240sx vert with sr20det alt issues

my car 1993 240sx vert with redtop sr20det

so i having power issues with alt or something

ok about 6mo ago my car would start and go right to 13 to 14 volts

and now when i start my car i have to rev my motor to get my volts over 12volts so it go to 13 or 14volts when driving it fluctuating from 10volt to 14volt and i can watch my lights flicker...

i swapped alt still does it ..
new lower harness still does it

tested old alt on friends sr and auto zone and it perfect.

I am at a lost on how to fix... any ideas or thoughts on this

just throwing it out there what is the condition of your alternator belt? and were are you reading your voltage from? if you read directly off the alternator and its low then you know its that system. if its normal and it reads low at the batery that means you have crazy excessive draw from somewere after the alternator. possably a short

New belt and not loose

I have to rev once to get the charge up to 13 to 14 volts
