SR sometimes pulls hard sometimes not?

The problem that I am having is that sometimes my car will pulls hard and feels normal. Other times it will feels as if the brakes are draging. (they arn't) When it acts up it feels like there is a huge load on the engine for no reason. Like I'm pulling a boat or something. When this happens all I have to do is shut the car off for 30 seconds and like magic it drives normal again. Im not sure what normal egt temps are but the highest I've seen mine go when it's acting normal is around 1200F but when it's acting up floor it from 45mph to 80mph will get it past 1300F when i do this normaly it gets to about 1100F and I went up 90mph when i got it to go that high. even when it's acting up it runs smoothly. (no bucking or shuttering ) it idles the same both ways. Earlier today when it acted up it also boosted up to 13psi. (stock wastgate no boost controler) so I let of and floored it again 8psi no higher. Maybe the exhaust was that hot that the wastgate couldn't keep up? High egt's could mean that its running lean but why? and why would it go away after I restart the car? it could be a cam position sensor throwing off the timing? may too advanced? but again go away after the restart? ecu maybe? o2 sensor probaly not the problem cause it runs same with or with out it. tps same deal pluged in or unpluged same thing. also water temp seems ok. i seems that the car will act up if i run through the gears a few times and then drive calm for a few minutes then it will feel slow, and the exhaust note is deeper when at wot.

my set up is a s13 black top stock turbo hpi exhaust manifold, turbo extension, and front mount intercooler. no p/s or a/c other wise stock sr.

sorry for the long post, thanks in advance for any help

mike

I didn't read your whole post... but from the first few lines.. I'd say your fuel filter needs replacing.

Mine does the same thing sometimes too. But it really doesn't bother me, before it use to hardly pull at all, now i just barely slows down. I thought it was the fuel filter to but never checked, eventually it just stopped.

If you figure out make sure to let us know.

perhaps you should check your wiring.

maybe your fuel injectors are being stuck open sometimes due to a grounding to the chassis, that could make your engine bog and lose power.

fuel pressure is 30psi when the car is off, 39 at idle and 52 under full boost.

i thought sr20det's don't have knock sensors? if they do this is very possible. it has no reason to be knocking. (good gas and stock boost) but if it was this could explain alot. i seen a lot a knock sensors on nissans go bad before. ( mostly on vg motors)
