No mods. Stock everything. No Silvias, no 200sx, no 180sx.
Stock paint, stock wheels, stock seats, stock ride height, stock stereo, stock EVERYTHING.

comfortable
quick (not fast, but has some balls)
sporty
smooth (sigh i miss those days of comfortable suspension)
nice interior layout
good storage space
quiet inside (miss this too)

yep i always liked them. hatch was always my favorite. kinda makes me wish I'd bought my little brothers when I had the chance too. (before he destroyed it)

no LSD = no drift ability! (ha ha! driftability... drift ability... never mind.) supa tall ground clearance = dumb looking. You ain't cool until you scrape on even the littlest of speedbumps (like me).

well, you can swap out an LSD from a HICAS 240 (is that still considered stock? (or just get a 240 with S-HICAS)

what about a Stock 94 and swap out the Auto for 5speed and LSD from another 240? is that still stock?

i got the 5-speed swap on my '90 and im soon gonna have a '93 front end on my '90 240SX

by the way i like the stock look but i think the performance can be better

i think the stock 240sx is great. looks, suspension, everything. it could have used summo' ponies though. people mod their cars to make something already good (most of the time) in to something even better. If ppl modded their rides depending how ****ty it was the honda/acura crowd wins by a landslide....JAMES. modded hondas are like roaches, they are everywhere you go. its not that often i see a nice 240

At some point we have ALL liked the 240 in stock form, for those of us that have them, I was in high school when the S14 came out and I was in love with it from that point, I was lucky enough to have gotten one 6 years later. I like the way it looks, it was decently quick (faster than your neighbors riced out civic) and I had originally planned to not do stuff to it, maybe some wheels and stereo. What happened? I got bit by that same bug that draws us all to this damn message board everyday and started modding stuff. I still love the car though.

Yeah, I really like the stock body styles. People seemingly always taint their 240 with a tall spoiler or wing and an ugly 3" can-shaped looking muffler angled to the side. *awaits the flamethrowers*

I really think the 2-port muffler looks the best and the same for the stock spoiler. Also, I feel that body kits make it lose its "lean" shape.

This is the only S14 that I've seen that still looks conservative enough for me

yes and no, actually.

cargo space compared to my old GTIs is near-nonexistant (in the S14 and S13 coupe i've owned).

brakes need to be addressed upon purchase of vehicle, unless the car's only used for commuting.

the wheels/tires are unsatisfactory (at least on base models; haven't driven a stock SE).

the shocks and springs are only barely acceptable on my base-model no-options S13 coupe.

but IMO, what kills this car more than anything else is the final drive... wtf is the point of a theoretical 160mph top speed when the ECU cuts out at 115mph? had nissan used the 4.3 gears as stock (or hell, at least an option), it would have been percieved as a "5.0 fighter" instead of a "secretary's car".

however, even in light of all this, i disagree that it sucks stock- unless you want the stigma of a miata or the repair bills of a 944, good luck finding anything else that's as close to 50/50 weight distribution for under $10k. people like us modify our cars because we want MORE. and it's never enough.

Yes....My favorite car in the whole world are S14's...I'd take that over any car out there....I know it's not the fastest car in the world but I'd love to own my favorite car..Not many people can say they own their favorite car (Even though i don't) but hey,all in due time

stock its an aWESOME car but any car has to be modified alil....even if its just suspension lowering and wheels....but im not saying it doesnt look nice stock and ride well stock....it just has SO MUCH POTENTIAL....thats the bottom line the 240's own

Stock is good all around, but there are some problems. The ride height makes the wheel gap look like a 4x4, and the stock wheels are waaay sunken in. And that nasty ass pinstripe, but that doesnt count as the car, i just need to take it off. So yes, stock=good, modified=better.

well more like yes and no. I initially really liked the coupe, way back in the day. Didn't really like the fastback. ...until I saw one lowered. Then I was all over it!

but, in the end, I do not like the 240 stock. A evo stock I wouldn't mind, but the 240, S13 especially, is too sloppy.
