okay so i got my ddrugs today...yay! yay! whatever...i must say, i am a little disappointed and have a few gripes, but keep in mind that they are not installed and these are just my personal opinions...
--first of all, the coilovers were not very strategically packed...imagine a huge box, and four individually wrapped coils slammin against each other and the box...the box had hella holes indicating some coercive force during shipping...when i opened it, there were three on the bottom and one front sprawled on top of the three...just looked like some sweatshop kid threw em in a box and taped it up...no damage as of yet --second of all, for something thats 40 way adjustable, the clicks are pretty weak and vague... --third, for something that is a higher level product, i assumed that there would be some kind of instructions or documentation of some sort. not that im lost, just that finishing touches, professionalism, and first impressions complete the package of a good product...if my neighbor got these on accident, he wouldnt be able to tell them from ebay ones...even the box is blank...(not that it matters, like i said, professionalism) --fourth, the camber plates dont have any markings...whats my camber spec again?.. --fifth, david told me that they ran out of springs and had to use silver springs...i was hoping i would get red ones...not a big deal, but its a psychological, insecure thing...i want whats pictured and original...who wants an alternative or alteration of the original? and --lastly, WHERE ARE MY DAMN SPANNER WRENCHES????!!!!!!! none the less, the quality looks good...and as for TF, they did a good job not being too late on the delivery and gave us good prices...only gripe for TF is their packing tactics...im gonna see if more ppl have reviews on them before i slap them on...im starting to come down with a case of uncertainty and buyers remorse...someone in a mature and constructive fashion prove me wrong with some credible evidence...

yeah...i calmed down a little...lol...so read my post ^ with a 3/10th adversity level...it was a very "high>>low" emotional moment so i only saw the cons...however, i still stand by my points, but i guess now its more of observations than gripes...BUT I STILL WANT MY SPANNER WRENCHES!!! AND A MEDIUM SHIRT!!! no, seriously...

I've got them on my car as well. Initial reaction was that I was in way over my head, but after fooling around and adjusting them for a few days I think they are awesome. Mine did come with the wrenches (although you can just use a screw driver), and also a Medium shirt, but that is entirely defiantmofo's fault as he told Dave that was my size. I am wearing the properly sized Origin shirt as I type this.
When I first put them on, and not having any experience with aftermarket suspensions and whatnot, I was slamming the tire into the wheel well (so slammed) and scraping on everything and all this stupid shit. Turns out you definately have to compress the spring when you put them on, not just slap them in, should have listened to Dave a bit more closely. I rolled my fenders in a fit of madness 1/2 way through the process of getting them ready for the street, but I think all you really have to do is preload the springs when you put them on. Be sure to count threads/measure to make sure you are even. I think my fronts are at 10 threads. I'm not at maximum ride height and the ride is decent for street, no scraping on everything if you keep an eye on the road and keep the adjustment more toward the stiff side. If you have it full soft watch out for hard corners, haha, the noise is embarrasing in public places. The rear is going to be so negatively cambered it's probably worth investing in some RUCAs, I'll probably be going with BattleVersion because Pfeiffer beasted my car when it was pretty stock and ruined my dreams that I needed a turbo to drift. That is, if Bill (defiantmofo) doesn't drag me to Ohio for some drifting, then I'll grab something random from TF if I can get it aligned this week. Going from stock suspension to D-Drugs and strut tower bars has made a crazy difference, with the D-Drugs at 50% stiffness the car has almost 0 body roll, if I picked up some sways I'm sure it will be ludicrous. I don't know what else you really want to know about them, but post it up and I'll answer your questions to the best of my ability. I'll post up pics of my car when I put my Full Battle Mode vinyl back on, Heh. Update: Oh yeah, the adjustment knob lets you feel every click, haven't had a problem wondering if I clicked or not. I click around in groups of 5 so it's an 8 way, heh. In other news, having your car so slammed creates an intense need for "aero" to go full hovercraft mode, despite the fact that you know you don't drive carefully enough to not have it destroyed immediately in that little trench down the street. i got mine, no spanner wrenches. packed just like sw20 said. they seem like quality parts, haven't gotten to installing them yet.
i kind of miss the dual height adjustability, but we'll see how these perform. quick question, how do you know when you reach full height? is it to the top of the threads on the shock body? edit: and another thing, i put the fronts on last night and with camber plates maxed out, it didn't look like i got that much negative camber. i also made sure that the top slotted spindle mount was pushed all the way in as well. we'll see what the alignment shop says. |

I could only get -1.8 degrees of negative camber up front. I was hoping for -2.0, but 1.8 is close enough i suppose. The rear i was at about -3.0. I would definetly suggest RUCAS. As far as the clicks go, i think they have a pretty good feeling to them. Compared to my KONIs on my 350z, which have no clicks, i think they seem fine.

what did all you guys preload them to? im looking at maximum/full height and just wondering what you guys did it at...did you guys get corrosion/rust/dirt on yours? on one of my fronts, where the bottom of the threads meet the lower perch, theres like this corrosion/rust/dirt in between the last thread and the lower mount...how bout you guys? my buddy told me that thats just the shit that comes out when welding...

Mine are close to fully slammed, about an inch above iirc. they are low as crap, lol. A friend traded me some swazies, gotta get those on the car and then I'll post some pics. My only gripe with them is the fact the camber plates have no degree marks on them. No other problems in my book so far, they ride pretty well imo, at 20 from soft in front and 30 from soft in the back, gonna knock those rates down alittle and see what happens after work. and an alignment, gotta get one, lol
