I am going to college next year and my car will be sitting in my drivway for a year or two, because my college won't let me take my car there. So I know I need to disconnect the battery, but what else? A cover would probably be a good idea to protect the paint right? Anything else you can think of to keep it in good shape, please let me know. Thanks.

don't you have to start it up every once in a long while if you are leaving it in the cold weather, to keep it from freezing.
An alternate solution is you could give it to me and I'd take care of it, but I know thats not gonna happen

i have talk to many people about this topic and from what i have learned through every1 is that you should get
fuel stabalizer put it in a 1/4 of a tank take it for a long drive around the naborhood and comew as close to runing it out of gas as posable than change the oil and put new oil and oil filter in run it for about 3-5 min park it on level pavement if not pavement than crushed stone (this will prevent dirt from splasing up on the under of the car witch take longer to dry promoting rust leading to rot) jack up the car and remove the wheels and take a quart of oil and dip you finger in the oil rub the disks with a nice coat of oil bolth sides and all 4 (this will prevent them from rusting also) you can eather leave it on its wheels but in the future when you put the car back on the road plain on gettin a new set pronto take a trash bag and cover up the exhaust so no moiture gets in there, pull the bat. and store it in the bastment and a cover would be good |

also, tires tend to deteriorate when sitting like this... if you live in the north east or another relatively harsh climate, you probably want to park the car on boards or just take the wheels off....
a cover is a must
