So I'm in traffic next to this pretty decent looking chick in a slightly jacked-up Toyota. 88 model, with the V6. So I didn't have my stereo up loud, and I can hear her bass which wasn't that good. She totally had that "I'm the shit" attitude.
So I put in Propellerheads, (Take California), and crank up the bass. So I'm thumping next to her, (not really thumping like audio drag thumping, but it's not a bad system, coupla 8" boxes behind the seats and 6.5's in the front. We get down the next couple of lights, and wouldn't ya know it, we pull up to the stoplight together. So I didn't even give her the "I'm checking you out glance." She just knew. So light turns green, get a pathetic start, really easy, and hear her jam the gas, so I jam the gas. Up to 32, she was pretty close, but then I shifted to 2nd and absolutely left her in the dust, WITH the stereo still loud as ####. It was funny. The only thing is it was pretty much guaranteed since I know for a fact those engines only had a base of 120 hp or really close to around there. It's a shame the older Toy V6's weren't more powerful. It's all gearing. |

LOL. Actually, it's not stock. Intake, exhaust, electric fan, and soon a cam. Except for that newly developed tranny noise.

You mean an additional cam? Are you betraying the KA24E world?
That's a pretty cool story. I like what duffy there said haha! |

Not on your life. I vow never to stoop so low as to go double cam.
I'm trying to decide which to get now. The mild cam that doesn't require milling the bearing caps, or the slightly more agressive cam that does require milling. 25 bucks difference but I'm leaning toward the milder cam. |

Don't know how much of a difference in powerband will be. I'm thinking I will go with the mild cam, since it is still better than stock, and it won't lower my torque quite as much, although Geoff assured me the low-end torque loss wasn't bad at all. I have faith in that, but still, I don't like the idea of milling.
