Slicktop Build for the Girlfriend

My girlfriend has been bugging me to get her a Z. I ran across this one about a year ago and started collecting parts to get this thing 100% so I dont have to be bothered to fix hers while working on mine.
Its a 1992 Slicktop with 90k
The car had seen better days, The roof of the car had about 40 little dents and dents and ding around the entire car. The engine had a mouse nest in it and the upper plenum was missing. Their was cat hair all over the place and had a wierd smell ( prob. cat piss ) ( first 4 pictures are from the owners house )

Got the car home removed interior and got to cleaning.
Theses are the goodies so far:

  • New 95 TT Harness
  • 95 NA motor with 56k
  • SPL V3 Tension rods
  • Custom leather/suede seats
  • Trust SP1 Exhaust
  • Headers
  • 99" Spec tail lights
  • Upgraded clutch
  • Pop charger
  • TT front bumper with Stillen type 3 molded in
  • Custom rear spoiler molded in
  • JDM Mudgaurds
  • Akebono 370z/g37 Brakes front and rear
  • Stillen sway bars
  • Front Upper Control Arms
  • Rear Upper control Arms
  • Traction arms
  • Toe arms
  • KYB with Sprint springs
  • Shaven Ant.
  • Shaven Rear windshield wiper
  • Shaven Hood Nozzle's
When it was at the paint shop. I removed more from the engine bay I just didn't take a picture. Car is was painted white. Was going for a Ballon White but I needed to put my money else where.

Car at my house after install of suspension:

Interior almost done

Wire Tuck: and Engine bay theme

Ran into a little set back ( Rusted gas tank ):

Since the rear subframe had to be remove I sent it to the Powder coater along with the front cross member, and all the adjustable suspension parts for a total of 50 pieces. Hopefully I can get everything from the powder coater sometime next week.

I told my paint guy I wanted the whitest white, so I have no paint code. I guess I could ask him maybe there is one.

Cross-Member back from PC and in the car.

Sway bar back in as well, PC Silver Sparkle.

Engine getting ready to go in. (Still need to put on the other 3 valve covers)

Engine in with the Upper plenum just sitting the to get a idea on what everything will look like.

Stuff I need to do:
Finish Valve covers
Throttle body gaskets
Install flywheel/clutch
Transmission
get rear subframe from PC
Install gas tank and Lines
Hook up AC lines
Install Exhaust
Bleed clutch and brakes
Paint timing covers
Install water pipes
Hmmmm think that's about it.

I will get better pictures in the day.

Good looking Z, great restoration work, glad to see one coming back from the dead! I don't know why, but I hate the wheels on it... can't put my finger on why they look like they don't belong

For those who have never driven a Slicktop Z, I would compare the handling to an FD RX7 . . . . The way the car handles is completely different than the T-Top counterpart. This car will have over a 1000rwhp!!!

Anywho heres what we got:

Adaptronic E1280S ECU , ATI Race Dampner, NEw Tein Coilovers With EDFC Pro Active with GPS:

New Built EP Racing Engine:
Specs:
EP Racing Ported Heads
Ep Racing Custom Cams
EP Racing/Moroso 8qt Oil pan (will arrive in a month)
1mm OS Int/Exh Valves
Dual Valve Springs
BDE Exh/Int Adjustable Cam Gears
WPC treated EP Racing Modified Crank
Custom 9.1:1 with HD wrist pins
Pauter Rods

Here are the photos of my car before and after accident ( Pulled the power plant from this ):
Here is my dyno run back in Jan. of 2014 673rwhp @21psi ( The tune was done so I would have a base to start from to break in the new EP Racing motor, This run is on a complete stock block with 4k on it.)
http://youtu.be/0ZnsQ0E6y0U?list=UU0...bCrD4mRMV3-xzQ

Car died from Spun Bearing (April of 2012):

New wheels NISMO LMGT1 18x11 on 315/30:

Toasted Crank (April of 2012):

Goodbye Forever (October of 2014):

Slicktop Damage after (someone, not me) spinning out (December of 2012):
(http://zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=476979 My old for sale right before the buyer was on his way from Sacramento to get car )

Looks good on the Pass. Side, lol.

The slicktop is currently at the body shop for modifications and repairs ( QTR replace, Winfactory rear weld-in rear QTR flares, delete of spare tire carrier, delete/fill unused holes and brackets in engine bay) The new color will be Porsche Carrara White . Im also working on a custom front bumper. All powder coated teal parts will be changed to a black ( satin, wrinkle gloss black chrome undecided right now.)

I plan on have 3 different front bumpers (custom, 99 spec, oem with stillen type 3)
3 different hatches ( Winfactory big and large wing and wingless )
2 sets of fenders (one set with blinkers)
2 hoods ( stock and custom)

Like a real life Gran Turismo
