KA-T Clutch Setup Question
I was looking at the Competition Clutch White Bunny clutch setup on Enjuku and they want $340 for the clutch and flywheel. However, I priced out the same parts on Rock Auto (93 D21 flywheel and 83 280zx turbo clutch kit) and it came out to about $140. What is responsible for this price difference. The clutch that I priced on Rock Auto was an Exedy btw, so not some generic garbage either. From what I read in the product description the Competition Clutch version uses "OEM style" parts. Would I just be paying for the name? This is for a single cam KA btw. Thanks

I'm not really sure how to answer your question although competition states their torque ratings for their 4 and 6 puck clutches.
I have the 6puck in my DE and couldn't be happier. |

I guess the main question I am trying to ask is: is there any major difference between doing the DIY white bunny setup or getting the one from competition clutch? Assuming I go with the full faced disc.

You're pricing an exedy clutch vs a comp clutch, that's the difference. They are different material and different construction. OEM style refers to being sprung hub and often using the same hub as the OE (Exedy, FCC, etc). The pressure plate is also a higher clamp force than the Exedy OE replacement.

Just install an RB25 flywheel and clutch. You can get a lighter flywheel the the 18lb one that comes in the competition setup for around the same price. I paid $400 for a 14lb XTD flywheel and a stage 3 competition clutch that's rated for 500wtq on a skyline.
Also the d21 flywheel you're looking at will weigh at minimum 23lbs. The white bunny setup is rated for 400whp. The oe replacement special WILL slip past 250whp
