About 3 weeks ago I spotted a Distributor (listed on his tag) driving one around. It was two toned sky blue/ white. looked reminicent of the new scion xB.

i dont like the styling of the new one too much, but something about it makes me wanna get it...lol
if theres a way to change the front end to the older gen then i might consider it, but im just waiting to see wat u guys do to your cubes...lol

I think some pricing overlap would be inevitable. although the cheapest Versa starts at under 10k, further trim models go up to 13k for the S model (features like the 122hp engine, 6 spd, upgraded stereo, etc seems to match the Cube's), and 16k for the most expensive trim.

My guess is that they'll also use scion's formula. start the base price cheap, but make $ off selling pricey gaudy accessories like neon kits and/or factory aftermarket. Nismo would be very marketable I'd imagine.

No mention of what options the base $13.9k model has. Aside from the 'Krom' model, lineup seems similar to the Versa. IF the options are the same as the Versa's, it will be difficult to justify the $4k premium for a Cube.

Versa trim price range = 10k-16k
Cube trim price range = 14k-20k (estimated)

no, because the cube was first. If you remember when the first xb came out, it was at the height of Nissan's financial troubles. Toyota having the capital that no one else has decided to follow in Nissan's footsteps from the 70's and introduce Nissan cars in the American market under a different name. This way if it doesn't sell it doesn't make Toyota look like they failed. Nissan did the same thing with Datsun. Toyota knew that Nissan's cube sold well, so they could afford to take the risk and market there version of the cube in the U.S before Nissan could. Now that Nissan has dug itself out of there financial hole they can afford to release it, knowing that the American market will gobble them up, seeing as people already own xb's and whatnot.

I personally think the Versa was a fail, there original design for it was Amazing, it looked like a renault rally car, it was so cool looking that they used it in anime, like Ghost in the shell stand alone complex. But by the time it made it to America it had less power, lost the wide fenders, and gained another door.

Well ya except Datsun was a big hit and Nissan caused more brand damage than good by switching from Datsun to Nissan. It confused the fuck out of the buying public and was a very bad move. So the logic for doing that can backfire.

The Versa is a hit. Regardless of what you think about it. Its doing well in sales.

Oh and indeed the Cube is the around the size of the original BB . I have seen it as close as they would allow me to get to it and posted pics of it on AutoIlluminati from the LA show almost two months ago now.
