S14 SR20DET Runs Rich & Idle RPMs Drop

Fresh s14 sr20det swap with all stock parts outside of intake filter and FMIC.

Issue:
Car starts up fine but as it warms up the idle continues to drop until it stalls. The engine bay smells like gas and so does the oil when I pull the dip stick / oil cap. The car back fires frequently too. Probably unrelated but there is a ticking noise coming from the engine close to the intake manifold. I also never hear the HKS BOV (atmospheric) when I take the car on short drives

I also found a gas spot on the underneath the fuel filter on the frame rail. The car did smell like gas when it was running the original motor pre-sr20 swap

Things I have done (based on search):
Removed the IACV and cleaned it thoroughly with throttle body cleaner. Adjust the plastic screw (which is stripped of course)
Removed the MAF sensor and cleaned it with MAF cleaner
Tried plugging and unplugging the gas tank vent
Adjusted vacuum hosing (BOV gets boost & vac, wastegate comes from cold pipe nipple)

This weekend I am going to:
Boost leak test
Change spark plugs
Change fuel filter
Pray?

After that...I think the only thing that is left is to pull the injectors to see if they are leaking. I bought the MAF off eBay and I read a thread where someone had similar problems and it ended up being a bad MAF. I am considering buying another MAF just to check

Am I missing anything?

That does sound like a MAF issue to bad you don’t have anyone around you that can let you borrow theirs and compare

Fuel filter

Replaced the spark plugs. They look old and there is some black on them but not too bad.
I replaced the fuel filter today. It must have been clogged because it was leaking extremely badly.

Couldn’t boost leak test because my bike pump didn’t work the tester i bought. I think it is unlikely there is a leak but want to test just in case

Problem still not fixed though

I ordered a new MAF today and will give that a go.

Also, going to order a coolant temp sensor to see if that fixes the cooling issue. I have tried to bleed the cooling system 5 different times and it gets very hot when I rev to 4K+

I changed the MAF sensor with a new one built by an eBay company. The car still slowly drops RPMs until it dies.

This weekend, I am building a smoke machine to check for boost / vacuum leaks. I am also going to change the thermostat to see if that solves my cooling issue.

After that, it may be send it to a mechanic time. I am running out of possible solutions
