Help before my car catches fire.. Again.

So i swapped an s14 tranny into my s13 and noticed theres a rubber black piece where the drive shaft links up. Today im driving the car for the first time since a swap and that plastic piece actually caught on fire from the friction of the cup hitting the driveshaft bolts. What the fuck? Any suggestions?

You talking about the cup that's at the end of the transmission correct? Take that shit off since your S13 driveshaft will just rub up on it. Its the dust boot...

Why not just disconnect the damn driveshaft instead of going full retarded on it?

disconnect it yes but you still have to usually beat it off.. the shifter hole just gives you a perfect angle on it.
