How far does mafs have to be from turbo?

i need to get a piece of piping made to go from my turbo to my mafs, but i cant have it made yet. would there be a problem with using a coupling to connect my mafs to the turbo?

besides maybe the air filter not clearing the power steering pump? or would the turbo mess with the reading?

ooh and its a suck through mafs setup.

Eh it happens. It's not necessary to be that far, just safer. Go with what works. If you go closer and fry your MAF and suck little bits and pieces in to the turbo then you know you went too close. :|

Can anyone else verify the 12in theory?

Because my MAF is 12inches from the turbo and my car sometimes dies whenever it is revved up real high and let off the gas, which the only think I can think of is it being the MAF to close.

Mine is about 6-7" with a 45 deg elbow into the turbo and it's fine. The filter adapter on the MAF is much more critical than the distance to the turbo in my experience. Turbulence is bad up there.
