Exclamation Coolant guage needle bouncing...help

so i just drove the car down to the store and noticed the coolant guage bouncing...i wasnt in conjuntion with bumps, it did flat line on one shift, but it was just randomly bouncing. i replaced the temp sensor a couple weeks ago and everything has been working fine. what could it be? im at work so i could mes with it and i have to go do stuff so i cant searc. thanks in advance for the help.

mine does that too. i just ignore it. lol i figured the stock gauge was broken.

yeah but the car has over 200K miles and the engine was swapped by the last owner...and i am just worried about someone elses mechanical abilities. so far the best thing that was brought up was maybe air bubble in the line from when i swapped the sensor....but that was a couple weeks ago and its just now doing it?

Check the connector on the temp. sending unit. Mine was bouncing around too and I jiggled the connector on the temp ending unit and it helped, I eventually just put a new spade terminal on the wire and plugged it onto the temp sending unit. No more bouncing needle

temp sending unit is just the sensor right? i will check that out. thank you.

Just clean the terminal on the single pin plug, that's the one that sends signal to the gauge cluster, I did my CTS (2 pin) and just a tiny drop of coolant got on the lol black single pin connector and my gauge was fluttering like that

My S14 was doing this, changed the sensor, worked for a bit then started doing it again. Replaced the gauge and fixed the issue permanently.

i havent had a chance to even mess with it. i do know if its the guage then it will stay broken lol. i pulle the cluster out on my last 240 and changed the faces..needles never were right again
