alright well time for an update. got alot of things done with the car

went to the mountain to drift even tho i was on a shitty alignment

still havent fixed my bog problem so i borrowed and ecu from my friend to see if that would fix my problem. it didnt but on the negative side i snapped the bolts to my drive shaft

so got new driveshaft bolt, went to test the ecu and my hood flew up on me

this point i havent figured out why my car would bog at 2500-3500

my friend let me borrow his model 5's and i got my front bumper back

well i put my group a vent in finally and painted my front bumper. its not in the best condition but its going to be my beater bumper for a while.

went to the local canibeat meet on 7/05/13 and met up with my friends teru and Kenny from Fatlace and they took a couple pictures

roling shot by teru-san

this picture was taken by my friend travis (roushman90)

the rest were taken my Kenny

anyways car is sitting on stands till i can get tires put back on the minervas which would hopefully be tomorrow or tuesday. still havent figured out the bog problem im thinking its either my fpr or a friend told me his problem was coilpacks. so hopefully i figure it out in the next couple days

what in the hell is up with the body parts? Normally i dont like to really talk shit on peoples build threads but i gotta know. It looks like your over fenders, front fenders and front bumper could fly off at any minute

dont you have a build thread on 240sxforum

The rears are super bowed out because I didn't want to run on 18x12's nothing's going to fly off haha the front fenders are flare out a little in the back for more clearance at lock and front bumper is a little saggy because I'm not running a bumper support or bash bar right now. I do have a build there but I never go on it haha

ok well an update:

i had some problems with my living situation and needed to move so i packed my car up with everything i needed and all my extra wheels and tires and started my 7 hour drive to my house thanks to one of my friends for towing me

got to my new house and started unpacking and lowered my car again because uhaul trailers arent ok with low cars. i moved in with max (cleanaandlegit)

so me making this move out here and not knowing anyone i hung out with max and met a lot of cool people. one of the people i met was franklin and i finally got to see his super cool z

i got bored one day and rolled my car out the garage and test fit max's cerberus in the front of my car with a 35mm spacer to help me decide what specs to rebarel my front equips to.

i think 18x10 -47 is a little too much for what i want. im planning on 18x10 -25 for the front

my car was just sitting while i helped max get his car together for the slammed society showcase at fd.

I finally started it and heard a ticking from the head and got a little sad so i took the valve cover off and take a look.

i took the exhaust cam off because it sounded like the tick was coming from there. When i took the cam off there was a small gash around where the cam sits under the first cam cap. There was also a similar gash on the head at the back. so i put the cam back in and tightened everything up. after i put the head back together i decided i was going to tear my harness apart so i can simplify it and clean up all the mistakes i made when i was shortcutting to get the car drivable.

mocked up some tubs im going to put in soon just waiting to get my wheels so i can test my clearance for angle

What did you do to get the rear overs how you like them?

What specs on rear wheels and tires?

How low is your car all around?

Why not go zero offset up front on 10" wide wheels?

i pinched them together a little then riveted them on.

in those pics it was 18x12 -20 with -5 camber and 265/35

current is 18x12 +0 with about -1 camber same fenders set up

rear is maxed with 1 collar removed currently and front is maxed with 2 collars removed. look at the last pic i posted to get approximate height

fronts will be 10 -25 just waiting on money and my drift spares to come in so i can re build both at the same time

Are those 50mm rear overs?

I guess my questions are more along the lines of why go such negative offset if you aren't in danger of rubbing on the inside?

I know the scrub radius must be getting crazy up front.

yeah they are 50mm bowed out

when i had the model 5's up front they were 10 -16 and i was rubbing inner well while turning. so im going to get do -25 offset up front to fill my front fenders and so i wont rub. still have to tub my front end havent gotten to pulling my motor yet. we will see soon how everything feels up front. rear is perfect now just need an alignment and to put my car back together so i can start driving it and drifting again

Ok, I'm not hating just curious.

I really like your build and it's progressing nicely.

My car is kinda like a weird long list twin of yours, so I get it.

I'm trying to figure out my front fitment also, but I'm starting at 18x12 +20 all around, and modding my coilover ears and upper strut holes up front instead of going so negative on offset. Different strokes.

I'm not sure there's an advantage in preventing rubbing by going so negative on offset (although I love negative offset) - I'm just coming from a max tire perspective.

Subbed!
