This works for some other e-mails too. Lets say your e-mail address is [email protected] if you add a plus sign before the @ sign you generate an instant virtual address for yourself. For example you can say your e-mail is [email protected] and it'll still come to your inbox. This is good for figuring out who your e-mail gets traded to when you give it out. You can then block any of those virtual addresses that have been sold to spammers.
