s13 PROBLEM- Please help.

Ok this might make me sound like an idiot, but this is a real problem. So I was having problems with my thermostat, like it would overheat a little. So yeah I got a new gasket, and tested the thermostat, its fine. The last person had used gasket maker, that goo stuff, but ok. So I fixed it and put in the new thermostat gasket, and it was fixed. The original problem was it was leaking, and that is why it was going all crazy, cuz loss of pressure and yeah. The day after I look under the car to check for leaks, and its leaking again. I put more water, and now it doesn't leak as long as I don't drive the car. When it gets hot it leaks from the thermostat. I have only put water in there, no coolant cuz thats a waste right now. So what do u think I should do? I fixed it and it is still leaking. I don't understand how water gets through, how does it leak out where a gasket it?

its called the system is unable to pressurize so you overheat faster. its called heat expansion as well, sure it makes a good seal at cold temps, once the motor heats up, everything expands, including unseen leaks. just go buy a freaking gasket and some waterpump gasket maker and coat the bitch in it. you may have another leak in the inlet pipe itself leading to the waterpump and thermostat. put some food coloring in the water, when it leaks it will pin point the POO (point of origin).

Are you sure it's not a leak from the hose dripping down the thermostat hosing? If not, yeah just go get a gasket and some sealer and do a good job with it.
