RB26 in my Kouki bringing me down
Fellas,
$8k OBO... Need it gone. I have too many projects and no matter how hard I try, year after year I do not make the progress on my car that I want. I have a '98 S14 with a R33 RB26dett. The transmission is converted to a 300zxtt with the rb26 bell housing. I pulled it out of the shop a few years ago early because I felt they were taking their time and not making it a priority. In hindsight, I have not made it a priority and the wiring is still not right. I am looking to do one of two things to trade it for a running stock S14 Kouki daily driver Straight up, but am up for other options.. 1998 salvage due to theft and stripped interior. not for damage. Interior has been replaced. R33 rb26dett (rebuilt upon purchase bust needs to be wired correctly) Neo afc Blitz bov Rb26dett bell housing merged with z32 transmission to convert to rwd Hks short throw Tein super drift coil overs Tein front and rear sway bars Nismo stabilizer front bar 5zigen fireball exhaust 5zigen 17x8 wheels Jdm wing (authentic) Cant remember the brand but all camber a-arms were replaced Custom painted hood (nothing special but looks dope as f***) What are your thoughts? IMHO, a car ALWAYS sells better when running and functioning. Also, the 2nd option is just ludicrous, why you would go backwards is beyond me. stick some cash or time in it get the rb goin , drive for a few miles, and then decide what you want to do. im betting you dont want to sell it then. especially living where you do, id imagine there's a ton of shops that can do what you need done. gl!

Why don't you just get a brand new conversion harness from wiring specialties and be done with it? If the frankenstein transmission is giving you a headache just shell out the extra dough for a RB25 trans. Some things aren't worth the headache no matter how much cheaper of an alternative it is.
But if you're that pissed off I have a ka-t I have a perfectly running one in my '97 I might be willing to work out a deal with. |

ben33327- You are right on all accounts. I would love it completed but finding the time to drive it would be a bust since I rarely have time to breathe. At least I could drive it if it was legal you know.
S14kouki805- beat the shit out of means lots of wasted $$$. I don't like to waste anymore these days. 19 years old and drift days are a long way behind me. I would if I was a millionaire though. Got some spare dough laying around? lol spooled240- I was thinking about that conversion but it is a little pricey and looking down the barrel at ripping all this stuff out of my car again is like pending doom looming over me. where are you located? |

Dude you're like in the last stretch of a marathon. Finish it. Get the harness and make it happen, and I don't think you have to pull everything out to install the harness..

Your going to miss out on the joys of the inline 6 purring. Save some money and get a swap harness if you can't wire it yourself.

It's like quitting a 100 lap race on the 90th lap. Figure it out man, it's totally worth the time and money once you finish. I love my RB25 Kouki and wouldn't trade it for any car. In fact, I sold my Interlagos Blue E60 M5 in exchange for my Kouki.
