white 1993 hatch... $1000 chicago area
no its not in perfect condition, i hit a guard rail doing 15mph (really i was doing 15, my friend and i had a conversation about hte guardrail before we hit it) in the rain. basically the car is asking for a silvia front end conversion, the headlight/fender/bumper driver side is messed up. engine/body had 120k miles on it, i had just worked on the engine only 1 week ago. the engine is running strong.
would also make a really excelent parts car. not looking to part out. also it will not come with a stereo, i'm taking mine out... |

i think the frame is probably bent a bit, but only in the front driver corner. that is where impact occured.
i had it immediately towed on a flatbed to park ridge autobody, i don't have pictures, it was raining that night. it is a 5 speed. there is no MAJOR rust, to be honest there were a couple cracks in paint with a little rust developing, nothing deep; paint wasn't bubbling or anything around them. 1 chip is on the back center of the roof, maybe about 3mm in diameter, and the other crack is the body weld under the passenger side door. its a 10 year old car, i took really good care of it. other body defects include 2 small door dings passenger fender side, and the antenna doesn't retract. also comes with a 5zigen fireball exhaust, it is cat back; i had it imported (jamsa spec) about 5 years ago. also has whiteline polyurethane tc rod bushings. those made a really big difference in handling. brakes have axxis metal master pads with about 3k miles on them. if you want to keep the stereo, here are specs on that (take it with the car for 500) kenwood hu (cd player is flaky sometimes though) kenwood eq mtx blue thunder 5 channel amp (the really really nice one, 50x4, + 200x1 RMS) polk db 5 1/4 component front speakers (polk momo predecessors, considered to have some of the best sounding auto tweeters ever made) infinity reference 4x6 plates in back (4" round with seperate tweeter for better sound integrity) 12" JBL gt sub wires: streetwires musica signal cables streetwires amp wiring kit has a viper alarm, i forget what model number, but it is one of the rare ultra high frequency ones. best i could get at the time when i was working for circuit city. |

meh. its not like rust rust, like anything is anywhere close to being in danger of rusting a way. its just a paintchip and a crack in the paint. could be taken care of with a little sandpaper, touchup, and time.
thanks for letting me know you aren't interested anymore though. just wanted to make sure you don't have any surprises. if no one picks this up in a few days its going to goodwill Last edited by kumanchu; 10-29-2003 at 08:53 PM.. |

send pics to [email protected] im very interested but want to know more about the frame damage. can you tell me for certain whether its bent or not? "rust" or lack-there-of is not a problem, like you said a lil sand paper and some love will take care of that. im mainly interested in the drivetrain/suspension. how messed up is it? let me know all you can

ok the info about the frame damage is:
because impact was at the corner of the bumper, it pushed that corner of the bumper back, and a part of the bumper touches the front of the tire. i wouldn't drive this unless i cut that peice of bumper off. i forgot to mention the hood teepee'd a bit after reading my original post, so driving to CA is not such a good idea ^^;; drivetrain is in great condition. tranny shifts smooth, but its about time to change the tranny fluid, still had no problems getting in and out of gear, i was a rev matching turd. i'm 95% sure that the drivetrain and suspension are still fine. the alignment wasn't even out when i drove it about 150ft to get out of traffic's way, and from what i saw it wasn't leaking coolant. the car is about a 45min drive from me right now, and i'm carless. i wish i could post pics, but i'm describing the best i can; i'll get some pics by tonight i think since my friend and i go to wushu school close to the place and they wouldn't mind driving me. |

also i forgot i had a spare tire in there, and remembered when i was takign out my stereo. it should be small enough that if you swapped the spare in to drive safely, though still with a bit of visibility problems. you wouldn't have to worry about rubbing as with the normal wheel/tire.
