Coils look delicious! There is only a couple gtr's from what I can tell doing in right here at Yokota.

Some parts can be picked up here cheaper. For example, snagged a brand new kaaz 2 way for $450 and new Blitz CS intercooler w/piping for $450. Both of those new cost $800 new in the states.

Hopefully you can find a shop that has them in stock. Not sure how much more shops will charge. As I ordered mine off the Auctions.

Lucky. I cant even begin to describe the all the fail that happens around here. Probably 25 GT-R's in the area. 1 is faster than mine, 1 other just has a B&N style kit, painted blue with a GT wing. Other than that its all other Stock GT-R's with intakes, exhausts, old shitty coilovers and wheels...

Hell yeah. cant believe how much money ive saved being over here and buying parts off the Auctions.

I can speak alot more than I can read. Once im am more fluent in speaking then I work on reading.

I use the Full Japanese YAJ site. I feel I get better search result than Aleado and chrome.

man I am in a huge predicament on which turbos I want to go with. I hear that the plain jane garret gt turbos are basically the same thing as HKS GT-SS and the stock r34 N1's (depending on size obviously). For a fraction of the cost. This is what I gather from the australia forums that is. Can't decide if I should go -9 or -7. I had my eyes set on GT-SS or R34 N1, but if you can just get brand new garrets that are basically the same thing, then why not? It's been weighing my mind down for a while now lol. It's harder than trying to pick a cereal in the grocery store. I think its just one of those things that i'm over thinking, realistically would probably be happy with any choice.

From what Ive read

-7 is most responsive, -9 is a compromise between the -7 and -5

With the -5 you'll get more power in higher revs, -9 is more mid range power.

It's all about for what you'd like to use your car and what's your personal preferences

I went with the -9's cuz i like response/midrange more than just top end only.

Very nice! Are those GT-SS rebuildable by conventional means?

Not easier or cheaper than a Journal bearing turbo. But they are rebuildable, but only by shops

Yea I have to agree. The -9 seem like the better choice and was the front runner in my choice. I don't mind a slight "lag" since it lets you feel the turbos kick in and makes the car seem more "fun" or "quick" so to say. Maybe if rb28 give the -5's a whirl. Just wish I could get a ride along with someone that has these turbos lol. Not likely in the USA..... Looking forward to seeing your GT-SS build.

Agreed. Ive read a lot of good reviews on them so ive sure they will fit to my liking.

haha yeah it might be a hot minute before ppl are able to do big work in the US. since most ppl with be paying off their GTR, before they can do big mods.

LOL im not grouping you into the masses Tony. I have faith you will actually do something with yours.

Got in the GT-SS's yesterday. Probably one of the scarier purchases I've made on there. Sucks not being able to physically check out parts before buying hoping the seller knows what hes talking about or know whats good or bad.

Luckily the turbos are in good condition. Normal shaft play for BB turbo's ^_^. so now I have 3 GT-SS's. always good to have a spare.

Very good prices on this stuff.

Since I'm probably not gonna get any different rims than the G7's, I don't think I can get a big brake kit inside them, not even the R33 Brembos. So tore apart a spare GT-R calipers to rebuild and paint.

Pistons were rusty in the pistons cup and around the seal. Not a big deal but wanted to replace them with new pistons. turns out its just about the same price to buy the Project Mu Upgraded piston kit. So I did lol

Wanna try and paint the calipers either try to paint match the rims, Black, Gold,Or Project Mu Green. Not sure yet

What do upgraded pistons do? Made of some special metal? Or just another gimic? Cause not like you can have drop in pistons that are bigger

The Project Mu Brake Upgrade Piston Kit replaces the standard brake caliper pistons for lighter, more durable aluminium alloy with improved lubrication.
  • Lighter aluminium alloy reducing the unsprung weight
  • Improves lubrication of the piston, reducing seizures and overheating

Did some pidley stuff today had picked up some rear axles from a buddy in trade of some parts (ill try to get them shipped out on Tuesday Matt lol)

Wanted to rebuild them so I don't have to worry about them for a long time.

Picked up some fronts to as well but they were fucked

On the harness I pulled all the old shitty sheathing and E-Tape off and rewrapped it in preparation for the braided sheathing.

I would go gold or black on the calipers. Black would look clean and subtle with the rest of the car. Kind of match the center cap. Gold if you wanted it to be a little more noticeable and blingy. Maybe do one in black and one in gold and put them on see which looks better then repaint the one haha. Extra work but it may help.

Also what offset is your 9.5 G7?

Yeah those are the 2 im thinking about now.

No idea on the offset. Mine has no sticker Specs

A lot going on right now.

Got in the Con Rod bearings, So got the Pistons bolted in Finally. Next'll be head work.

Got in my harness wrapping stuff

One plug branch down.....

Snow is finally gone!! Finally reunited with my Love!

Went to install/ops check the Splitfires, connected the plugs and poof..... 20 years of heat soaking happened.

Luckily I had the R33 harness from the spare engine with good plugs. Depinned the plugs and installed on the R32 harness good to go now.

Then installed my Titanium Prop Rod!!! lol

Looks way better
