S13 tail light options?
Are there any possible modifications to do to the stock s13 hatchback tail lights to make them look better when they are illuminated? Iam not looking to be cheap by not getting koukis, they just dont flow with the old school theme that I desire. I want the two circles thing like on 1st, late 2nd, and 3rd gen rx7's. I'd post a picture but computers are my enemy

for a nice clean look clear out the bottom amber sections, this looks really nice IMO.
Please do not do the round rx-7 tails, i've seen kits on ebay for them and it looks gross. |

If u are mexican you can put vinyl tape over the lights so that they look like little circles. Woot!

Those x3's might look sort of decent if you maybe just stole the interior pieces and switched them out with the stock housings. Or if you could black them out extremly. Dont worry about the rx pieces, thats just what I want it to look like, no terrible retrofitting will be attempted. Wheres Mike at? Im sure he has some ideas or input

painted by a body shop. NOT out of a can. The rattle can stuff hazes and gets nasty over time.
most body shops won't attempt painting on lights as most paints damage them. final result is pure deep red, super glossy, and can be waxed and polished like the rest of the car. the picture shows a hint of amber but its not there in person.

i was thinking.......
if you were to get many small, "ultrabright" LEDs off ebay, and i know you can get them pre-wired with a resistor in each one or whatever it is for cheap, you could experiment with clustering them together in the number of about 10 or 15 and actually gluing them right to the inside of the taillight housing with clear epoxy...remember LED's dont throw any heat....and ONE LED bulb in the taillight housing isnt very bright but maybe 15 close together would be...Maybe ill get a scrap taillight off ebay and screw around to see what happens

I'm applying vinyl to mine tonight (not cut out circles like mexicans.) Black over the center piece (it's a black car) and translucent red over the entire tails. I'll post up pics when it's finished.
