if you can get it into the US that would be worth it to me. the memories of driving that baby around japan would be enough for me to wanna import it and pay the fees to have my lil s car brought over just to keep it and track the car or garage queen it.

on a second thought may you can ask the Japanese officials that do the importing and exporting and just see if it would be ok to just simply ship the car to the US with NO intentions of registering it or anything.

It will still never be anything but crusher fodder.
It's illegal, even if you don't register it. Not because it's REALLY illegal, but because that's how they interpret the law. I think you can pay a bunch of money for a special importation where you drive less than like 500 miles a year. Why don't you just find somebody who can park it for a few years for you, and make the arrangements to have it shipped when it's legal and you'll able to properly and openly enjoy your car? |

Take it all apart, put them in little plastic bags with individual labels on them, ship all that crap over, buy a 240sx, take all the parts out of the little plastic bags, install onto 240sx, now you have a RHD 240sx.
RHD 240sx is the same thing as your illegal import, but it's legal. So go drive your RHD 240sx and be happy. Also, RHD stateside sucks dick. Just learn to shift with your right hand. |

Bring it back as a parts car...just gotta disassemble it. But honestly, what the hell is the point? Bring back everything you got for it, minus the shell and find another S13 to put all your stuff into.

Bring all of the JDM goodies you want to keep, and when you get back to the states find a clean S13 240sx coupe. Either that or store the car in Japan until 2017, and then import it. Anything else is going to be illegal.
I would opt for option 1. You can have fun by creating an LHD replica of your former car. Don't even buy into that RHD conversion crap. If you really want to drive a true S13 Silvia, sell your current '92 and import an '88 Silvia. They are now officially legal to import into the states.
