R33 and z32 calipers are the same. its still a sumitomo caliper so yes z32 parts work. i would rebuild them if there off the car since there easily 15ish yrs old and its not that expensive.

Great thanks! but I know the rotor r different aren't they? I can't find rotors for this and everywhere I search they only have z32 and r32 they don't even mention r33. I know read somewhere that they had a different size?

Actually that is not exactly correct. R33 uses a larger diameter rotor. So you have to cross reference the rotor size as a Z32 rotor is to small. I believe MrMcGarrett cross referenced a rotor that works.

They do and they dont. Q45 rotors are the same diameter as R33s but the thickness isnt the same. IIRC they are 28mm vs 30mm and both are 296mm diameter wise. They use the same pads and hardware as Z32/R32. R33 brakes are better because of the larger rotor.

i was about to start this thread myself, for my s13 though.
only difference i'd need to know is the rear, i have both Z32/R33 calipers pads and rotors,

for my daily, i was assuming the Z32 setup F+R and the track car the R33 breaks, but what if i wanted to upgrade my rotor? my R33 rotors need new rotors or a machining, so i wanted to go a larger rotor anyways.

the pbm rear rotor is for oem rear caliper, and i cant find rear r33 big break rotor anywhere, is my only solution to get the oem rotor i have machined?

annnd third question would be, is a big break rotor upgrade worth it? i wanted it in the rear for my hydro ebrake setup. im looking for the best lock i can get, if the oem R33 caliper+rotor is good enough than so be it i suppose.

Fixed. Like Ray said, there is 2mm difference.

As far as pads, hardware, and rebuild kits go everything is exactly the same between turbo R33 and Z32. The rear brakes are exactly the same between turbo R33 and Z32. The only difference is the front rotor size, 296x30mm for R33 and 280x30mm for Z32. They both bolt up exactly the same. I've had R33 brakes on my last three Silvias, they are direct bolt on. You don't need any shims or any crazy shit. The R33 ebrake cables also bolt right up to S14 and S15, ask me how I know. And, regular turbo R32 brakes are the exact same as Z32, everything. R32 GTR are the same as R33 except with a 2mm thicker rotor. R32 GTR front rotors are 296x32mm.

Here's some pictures.

Z32/R32

R33/R32 GTR

One more, notice how I had to cut the dust shield out of the way to clear the bigger rotors.

Z32/R32

What he said. The closest rotors you're gonna find are 2000 Infiniti Q45.

Just finished this swap on my s14. Ran into some issues with the rear with having to swap the e brake set up... more just a pain in the a** to do but not too bad. i ran just the front swap for a while on the stock BMC but once you put the rear on switch to the Z32 BMC just make sure it has the 3rd fitting!!! the first BMC i got didnt have it check ebay there like 100$. also i think there are 2 different size Z32 calipers because 240sxmotoring sells 2 different size rotors, I lucked out when i got my rotors so dont quote me. when i put the front calipers on i had to make some shims to line up the space between the caliper and rotor.but other than that the front swap is really easy. as for the e brake cables the Z32 n/a cables work you dont have to look for R33s. NAPA, Advanced...
check out 240sxmotoring.com they have helped me rebuild my car great site!!

so much misinformation in this thread...

R32 GTR non-vspec and R33 GTs-T share the same calipers (the ones you have), rotors and pads except for the fact maybe that there were drilled rotors available for the R32 GTR from factory. the rotors for these calipers are 296x32mm. Z32 TT calipers use 280x30mm rotors, Z32 NA 280x26mm...

R32 GTs-T uses Z32 TT calipers, 280x30mm.

i doubt that Z32 pads will fit in the R33 caliper but if they do, they won't use the rotor surface as effectively as the R33 pads would.

and before anyone asks, i've worked with all of those brake setups but never mixed and matched. but about the rotor sizes im 100% certain.

have you tried measuring the bridge gap in the caliper to see if its in fact a 30mm caliper ? By that i mean the gap where the rotor passes in between the caliper, just outside of the pads. or have you only relied on what you have read and not even applied any of this info ?

i dont get what your trying to say. why cant you measure it yourself ?

in this picture, measure the gap in the middle/bottom of the right caliper. it should be about 32mm wide, enough to fit a 30mm wide rotor. If its smaller than that, then you have a 26mm caliper

Most likely you have GTS25T calipers. The others aren't 4 pots except the GTR and they are Brembos.

Firstly Apologies for bumping up this thread. I am using a R33 4 pot sumitomo calipers. 296X idk what mm. Now im looking to get a bigger rotor for my front. Really confused what rotor could be used with this exact same calipers on the First Post.

Appreciate any replies. Thanks. For brake pads, i found hawk do sell R33 GTS-25T pads from driftworks. Really hard to find other brand pads thou. Any suggestions? =)
