S13 SR20DET VDO Tach adapter?

Hello. I am wedging a S13 SR20DET into my Locost. I have a factory S13 engine wiring harness. Will I need a Tach adapter to install a aftermarket VDO tachometer?

Thanks guys. I am new to SR20DET's and your forum rocks! It has answered about a million of my questions already. My car will be street legal and look something like this when it is done.

It only weights 1500LBS, so even a stockish SR20DET will make it a blast to drive :-)

The new Caterham Seven 620R has similar power (accept the power is not Nissan enough for my liking)

Yes, most likely you will need a tach adapter. The only ones that don't require it are the fancy ones from Apxi and Defi that are fairly expensive

Do you know what kind of signal the SR20DET makes? With these adapters your usually converting the signal the car makes into the signal the tachometer requires. Thanks Jason
