S14 Tranny Grind (video)
A couple days ago I noticed a vague grinding noise. I was blasting my music and I had thought it was just a road bump or something. Today it became significantly more noticeable and I can't seem to figure what it is. When I downshift form gear to gear at high rpm's there's lots of shaking on the shifter and the clutch pedal. Almost as if I was grinding gears, but it's not form the gears it's the front (clutch, flywheel, tob...) When I rev it in 1st gear, with the car not moving, the grind happens and doesn't stop until I release the pedal, then it goes away as I start to roll. Clutch has been adjusted, master is topped, just did the 5 speed a few months back, so everything is pretty much new. I have a clue as to what it is, but if you guys have any idea let me know; before I drop this beast. Thanks.

That's your synchro's grinding as you pull it in to gear. You are obviously having a hard time getting it into gear(can be seen and heard in the video). Why don't you pull the inspection plate and see if you can see anything in the bell housing that is obvious. I'd also drain your fluid and look for metallic shavings.

I would agree with you on the synchro's, but if you look at the second half of the video, when the car is stationary, I rev it in 1st gear it makes the noise until I release the clutch and let go of the pedal(same gear all the way, no shifting). That's when the synchro's don't make sense as the problem. But I'll check the fluid next and see what's up.
