Diffrence between CA18 and SR20 gauge clusters ??????????????????????????????????????

What is the diffrence (tach wise) between the CA18DET and SR20DET clusters? Reason I am asking is because I have had a CA18DET cluster (one that has dotted red line from 7000- 7500) And it wont work with my redtop. All the SR clusters i have seen, don't have the dotted line but rather just a solid red line from 7500 onwards.
Do they make a SR cluster with the dotted red line from 7000 - 7500 ???? Because a CA18 cluster wont work with redtops, and i kinda want a tach so i can have fun!

why not just use an s13SR gauge tach?(or a dohc KA tach) The redlines are the same as the CA...the dotted red line is just a warning before the actual redline.

If you're asking why the CA tach isn't working. it's probably the same reason a sohc ka tach won't respond to dohc ka or SR tach signals....they just don't use the same signals

use a dohc tach or an SR tach ......and less "?" marks next time or the mods will chew you out. =P

I would use a SR tach but i don't have one thats the problem... This is the second time I bought a "SR" tach and it turned out to be a CA18 one. I'm just wondering if what i have is really a SR tach or a CA18 tach.

i don't think cars that came with sr redtops came with that style tachometer. i have a blacktop sr and it doesn't have those dotted lines...just a redline at 7.5

CA tach works in an SOHC car, but not DOHC (SR or KA)
