adjusting BOV?
ok i just installed my BOV. Since i did not feel like drilling/welding i just kinda thought of my own interesting way of routing it. I still have the stock air recirc valve on the SMIC hooked up normally, but instead of the air going into the intake tube, it goes to my BOV. And ofcourse i teed the vacuum line so that it would goto both the BOV and the air recirc. Now, im trying to adjust my BOV and i think its just a little too stiff right now. What's the proper proceedure of adjusting it? When there's mild boost and you hear the "pu tsu tsu tsu tsu tsu" bouncing sound, is that the air going back into the turbo and causing notorious turbo surge?
yesss shiny isnt it?

its compressor surge not turbo surge and probably yes. why the hell are you trying to run a BOV with your stock BPV still in place? quit being lazy and hook one or the other up properly. THEN adjust. till its setup right no amount of adjustment is going to do squat.

I dont understand what difference this will make.
The reason i dont want to hook this to the intercooler where the stock ARV is 1-, it's going to get all dirty from the front wheels throwing up dirt and whatever else is on the road, 2- The ARC SMIC just BARELY fits so it isn't as easy to take out and put back on compared to the stock SMIC.

which part?
I doubt your moving enough air through the BPV to open the BOV. but the bigger question is why are you getting compressor surge? I'm willing to bet that in your jerry rigging of the two together you caused neither to work properly. signal not strong enough or something. 1 - thats lame its going to get dirty no matter where in the car you put it short of the glove box. its a fact of life. 2 - see my first post about laziness. if you want it to work right find the time to make it. yeah its a pain in the ass but wouldnt you rather have everything functioning properly?

Listen to Steeles. He knows what he's talking about.
You need to take the stock recirc out and plug the fitting. Then you need to get that BOV welded into your hotpipe OR you need to make it fit into the sidemount. No crying THEN buy a hose and some adapters from the parts store/hoem depot and make it work. I did a ghetto recirc for my Blitz and it works fine. No crying, just do it |

i found some rubber and metals tubes here and there of assorted sizes. Got plan to make it fit down there. I'll work on it in the morning.
