You know what's funny? I always get called out on my shit for saying LS1's can make close to 30mpg. I'm sure those people get their facts from pamphlets at the local Chevrolet dealer.

Glad you backed me up on this one cuz I wasn't sure. You seem like a credible source so I'll go with it ;p.

my mom had a fox body mustang when i was growing up, 88 GT convertible.. Heavy clutch, dunno how a lil asian lady could drive it lol. shitty ergonomics but crazy power.

There was one that raced in DTM



it was a privately funded entry from what i read.

what i like about my fox is the fact that if your on a budget, you can go to the junk yard and easy find heads, intake manifolds, bigger tb, gears, posi differentials, 31 spline diffs, rear disk brake upgrades, interior upgrades. e fans, 3g 130amp alternators, mini starters and so on...and for hella cheap

....and no it dosent take a lot of dough to make it handle well, it is cheaper than buying 1000+ coilovers....you would just need some springs, replace your old bushings and struts and shocks. and add sub frame connectors with a front sb and your set.
you can find some cheap cobra breaks online and youll have all the stopping power you need.
the best part is that almost all the mods out there for foxes are street legal.
also ive noticed when i had the 240, the popo yould pull me over all the time. now that i have my fox, i could be driving next to them with full exhaust and they wont even bother....for some reason...

"he white Mustang was driven by Gerd Ruch, who was also the owner of his private (notice the absence of a big sponsor) racingteam Ruch Motorsport. Although beeing the fastest DTM car at that time in a straight line, the Mustang was completely uncompetitive in cornering and braking. Years later Ruch said in an interview that after the first run on the nordschleife he was so scared that he pretended to have technical problems so he didn't have start in the second run, because the car was "absolutely undriveable there".
The Mustang never won a race but had lots of fans for being the oddball in the field. Reaching the finishline was his personal victory. His brother Jürgen Ruch joined some races in a second white Mustang. Gerd Ruch had his last DTM season in 1995, when he drove an AMG Mercedes. He quit motorsport after winning the 1996 BPR-GT-Trophy in a 911 GT2."

fox bodies are cool in my opinion.

simple and fast, i like the idea.

C4 corvettes are also very cool, for some reason i think that they are going to have a bunch of problems.

actually all the american cars from that era are fast and cheap, what about the camaros? those look pretty cool, and LT1s are pretty fast right?

hate to go off topic but you ever see one of those F body verts with teh top down and lowered in person? they look real good.
I saw some dudes rollin in a blue one lowered on 18' chrome iroc rims with teh top down and it looked pretty sick.

EDIT: A C4 Corvette is 10x the car though, particularly an LT1 or LT4.

The LT1 cars will have the occasional optispark problem, but it isn't a huge deal. The L98 cars probably won't ever have *any* problems. Avoid Crossfire injection ('84).

that's a 9300rpm redline on what's essentially a winston cup motor...stuck to a 3 speed stalled auto all in an iroc z
