3,300 lb - C5
3,000 lb - Evo I - IX

300 lbs mean nothing on the track, right?

3: Dumbass

A Corolla, even in modified form, would have a hard (read: near impossible) time even keeping up with a Base beat the shit ls1 Automatic Vette, with decent tires.

Instead of blabbing off about something you have zero clue about, why not get out from behind your keyboard, goto a local HPDE, AutoX, and or Race and see what these cars actually can do. Let me assure you, you will be hard pressed to find many Corollas out there. Why even bother with a Corolla anyway when you can have a Miata?

Exactly. Such an excellent chassis, that most Import FFF's have no clue about. Heck even if money was nothing, the current Z06, a what, 75k ish car, embarasses cars triple it's cost with the right set of tires on it.

Now now, they don't talk about Corvette in Dsport magazine, only 'tooner' cars.

Sounds like a case of piss driver versus power. PS: A 400whp Corolla would be JANK...all I'm picturing is a peaky, twitchy car, that would have either a hard time staying in power, and or then have a hard time putting it down once it got into it. I still know a 400 whp vette would beat up a 400 whp 'rola.

yea yea....

did you see what i said????

one lane downhill, you stupid dick.....

did i say gymhana, or race, fool?

It's readily apparent to me now that you need to:

1. Learn how to read..

2. Read...

3. Stop being a dumbass....

and i actully do drive a nissan sedan back in thailand......

LOL....

cefiro tho, not the altima.....

and this is what i was driving here in the states until i sold it a couple months ago....

and yea, i love my video games and bitches on the super street mag......

I think people overestimate the size of the corvette a little. The zo6 is honestly just a tad bit bigger than my old s13. Weight wise, you can easily knock off a hundred pounds or so when you lose stupid things like the interior and what not, and with a good suspension, tires, and driver (thats the kicker. a good driver) you have a car that can not only rape, but go catholic priest, on some of the cars mentioned.

However, for half the cost, you can have an LS1 240sx with a better suspension, and weigh in at 2300 lbs, if your serious about it.

Not all corvettes have an ls1. Only since the c5 corvette have the LSX engines been available.

LOL 7M FTW! Nah seriously, unless your in love with keeping the stock powerplant, I dont see a reason why you SHOULDNT throw out the 7M and replace it with a 1jz.

Anyhow, if the thread was best Touge car for under 15 grand...

I love corvettes. I dont see what there isnt to like about them. Classic american muscle. And one of the only cars you can buy for under $25,000 that can run 11's with 1000 dollars worth of mods.

really?

from car and driver the evo rs, which is the lightweight version.

The RS gives up all comfort and civility in the name of saving weight, denting the dirt with 234 fewer pounds than the standard Evo. Of course, eliminating keyless entry, a CD player, and the power goodies doesn't shed enough weight to make a performance point, so the RS must also leave the factory without the standard model's sound-deadening material, trunk lining, anti-lock brake system, rear wing, rear-window wiper, high-intensity-discharge headlamps, and just about every interior practicality, including the vanity mirrors, rear assist grips, and map lights. Even the door handles and side mirrors lack the weight of paint. Our tester was without an air conditioner as well. Mitsubishi later decided that all '04 RSs would be fitted with that convenience. So with A/C, we reckon the RS would be somewhat closer to Mitsu's 3175-pound estimate.
