Checking out the main bearing clearance, it's pretty much perfect at .0015-.0018", and the rods are at .0024" which is mint as well. Measured with a proper bore gauge.

Oil squirter "delete" will be replaced with some proper Mazworx ones.

Super Beefy crank doesn't allow squirters it seems.

Timing chain squirter will be replaced with a Taarks screw in.

Here's some of the detail work that I do to my bottom ends. Basically smoothing out casting flash, breaking sharp edges, Smoothing out oil drains and feeds, etc.

Why does no one ever address the terrible water inlet on SR20 blocks? It's a ninety degree cross drilled passage that has to see a bunch of turbulence.

Just cleaned up some more flash in the water pump area.

Also, SR20 blocks have these weird plugged, unused passages that run to the sump. I may try and simplify my catch can setup by using the top fitting as a drain. I gotta knock that aluminum plug out so I can use the factory crankcase vent, but I think I can re-route the PCV system so in vacuum/cruise it takes the proper path of through the air intake, down into the sump, up through the timing cover and out the valve cover. Kinda nice for detail people like me hah.

Off to the machine shop today!

Just learned from a very reputable SR20 builder that my main clearances are much too tight. Guess I'll order up those .001" extra clearance bearings hah.

Its funny. When you posted the mains and rods, I had to go look them as they did seem too tight. Especially if you want to put some big turbo heat into them.

Thanks, I guess I'm used to iron block 4G63's that must move around less? The rods should be fine as far as I'm aware, but I guess #3 main should never be less than .0030"! Which is much larger than I'm used to seeing. Mine is at .0012" so I'm going to have to do some finessing.

Got the THL crossmember in.

Got the GKtech one-piece arms in, the car back on the ground, and got it to a more proper ride height.

Still need to install these and a hundred other things.

Everything looks good. I wouldn’t omit the piston squirters if I were you. On the oil drain holes, did you just chamfer the hole instead of having a 90* edge? I’ve contemplated doing some of these things on my “big power” build.

Yeah I'm going to try and fit the squirters back in. Yes, I chamfered or radiused every oil drain and feed area it made sense to.

Anyone interested in an old-school style writeup on the SR20 wiring harness build? Obviously I'm doing a video about the whole thing, but I can take pictures and do a writeup if people think that would be beneficial for the forum. I'm going to be building the harness to be future proof so it would include some extra sensor provisions and all the things to run the VVL system for a VE head conversion.

Haha, indeed that is me. Nah, the VG33 was supposed to be a budget build for me and it got out of control much too quickly. As you can tell, I tend to "spaceship" things, or make them way more complicated than they have to be. Not to mention when I stopped working at the shop I lost the ability to weld things, which was pretty key for that whole setup. I sold them all to my local Z31 friend.
I'm still kind of undecided on what engine is going in the orange car (That I really, really don't want to be orange anymore).

Because I dislike ECU master connectors, this will allow me transition to a different ECU if I want, and I got a sweet deal on this. Might run an ADU5 though!

Finishing up the nitty gritty of planning out this harness. A few more big decisions to make and then it's mockup time for the ECU to firewall.

It's my fault guys, although it wasn't your typical install. Video will be up in a couple hours with all the mistakes I made on this thing haha. Luckily it is salvageable, but I'm going to be refreshing my spare subframe with a few new twists to replace this thing for now.

Hhahahaahahah, it's all good man, it was a bad idea, just something I rushed to get done and I've paid the price for it! Trashing these bushings and going a totally new approach on this next subframe, so hopefully I can redeem myself.
