don't get me wrong I am not saying per se to forgive the guy. Forgiving is something that comes on a overtime basis. Its a moral, ethical , spiritual thing.
Yet I did say don't forget. Which pretty much means, do not let him near you. Do not let him into events , do not hang with him or even entertain his presence.
You can forgive someone because they are incapable of doing the right thing or do not know any better. It does not mean you have to tolerate them or allow them to continue. LIke I said forgiving is a very spiritual personal moral deal.

1. He tried/threatened to steal your car.
2. You don't trust him.
3. This guy is a well-known admitted car thief.
4. You personally know he's a car thief and can potentially be prosecuted for "accessory to...".
