KA24E issues
Bought a single cam 89' last night car drove home an hour away fine but car hesitated after like 4500 rpm and then beating it for a bit on my way home car started to drop speed slowly until it turned off now car won't stay on unless you're reving it up to 2k+ the PO said there was some old gas in it before and hadn't ran in a while. What could be the issue? I'm thinking replace the fuel filter and see where that goes

There's so many things it could be to list. Check normal maintenance parts (you listed fuel filter, plugs, wires, dizzy, injectors, intake leak, clogged air filter, etc) first and then see what you find. Hell the alternator could be going out, just too general of an issue without confirming it has working parts

Need spark, air and fuel. Find whats missing. Smell fuel when cranking? Grounds good? When I had my sohc my fuel pump wasn't turning on because of a poor battery ground, take jumper cables and put one on battery ground terminal and the other on your shock tower bolt and crank it. Is the ecu throwing any codes? Do you know how to get it into diagnostic mode?

I have spark and fuel last thing to change is the maf sensor and fuel pump I'll try the jumper cables to battery and shock tower tomm though. This is just weird I know it's something small I drove the car a hour away from picking it up then when I tried joining it I realized that it was in limp mode at 4K my buddy started unplugging stuff and then 10 min into driving back home the car just started losing power so I thought I was low on gas I.e my gas gauge is broken so I filled up and the car turned on but I had to floor it to only have the rpms top out at like 2k then slowly die Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Ok so I replaced the fuel pump and the car actually starts now but it won't rev over 2500 rpm my last option is to install a new maf sensor (which is on the way) hopefully this is the last thing I need..

Also did a compression test on all cylinders today
Cylinder 1 Cylinder 2 Cylinder 3 Cylinder 4 So hopefully it's only the maf sensor that's the issue Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

When your maf toasts , it goes rich (limp). After a bit it will foul your plugs. Just probably a lot of left over fuel Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Can someone explain to my why ever since I changed my fuel pump my tank starts to leak gas? I already seated the o ring properly and the two hoses are always dry it's just leaking around where you see it all wet?
