1jz help
I have a friend that is doing a 1jz into a s13, and he had recently purchased 1jz flywheel bolts (m10x1.25x36mm) and they don't even go though the flywheel. Could the flywheel be for an auto tranny? He is using an R154 tranny; does there need to be a special flywheel he needs? Or can he just get longer bolts and just use the same flywheel?
These look like they will fit. 2JZ ARP Flywheel Bolts [ARP-2JZ-Flywheel Bolts] - $43.99 : ATFSPEED - Automatic Transmission Factory, 954-916-1155 Last edited by FourtyKid; 09-24-2013 at 08:33 PM.. |

The 1jz/r154 come together from the factory. He can use a stock 1jz flywheel or an aftermarket 1jz flywheel. What he has....we don't know without pics. If he doesn't know the difference between a flex plate and flywheel then stop and do more research.
*There is a whole thread dedicated to the 1jz swap (and one for the 2jz) http://zilvia.net/f/engine-tech/5341...is-thread.html

flex plates are a lot thinner than a flywheel. Sounds like he got auto bolts instead of manual.
