2JZGTE VVTI Build in S13 Chassis at Zerolift
Hey Folks ...
Here is an overview of a recent project here at Zerolift. While most are still afraid of the 2JZGTE VVTI Platform here in the US. We put together a Drag Platform for the 2012 Season on a Stock Motor to test this "RUMOR" we keep hearing from people ... those are "weaker" than the regular 2JZGTE. So .... We Put it to the test !!! 2012 Setup : 2JZGTE VVTI - Stock Long Block Zerolift JZ Swap Mounts + Solid Mounts PRO EFI Management System Intake Chamber using Q45 Throttle Body Budget Tubular Exhaust Manifold Borgwarner GT42 Equivalent Precision 46mm Wastegate 4" Intercooler - Tial Blow Off Valve Turbo 400 Automatic Transmission 3.5" Aluminum Driveshaft Best Result 9.625 @ 147mph 1/4 Mile Overall we were VERY pleased with the results. The 2JZGTE VVTI performed very well for a stock motor. The VVTI System helped yield a Higher Torque than Horsepower Result which is an uncommon thing with a big turbo platform. For the 2013 Season there are some major changes coming. Built Engine Built & Ported Cylinder Head Custom Grind Camshafts Custom Fabricated Turbo Manifold with Quick Spool Valve Larger Intake Plenum Water to Air Intercooler System E85 Fuel + 2150 FIC Injectors Swirl Pot and External Fuel Pump System Possibly a bit of Giggle Gas BUILD PROGRESS PHOTOS Below : More to come .... Hey - so how is the Q45 throttle body working out?
I'm having issues with the vvti DBW throttle body, trying to make it work... Q45 a good solution to this, or was there other reasons for your choice in throttle body?
