thats not what your mom said last night....
she said it looked like a gaping silver and BLUE ass hole. Dont hate, It's a track car. Every time i scrape a cone/krail/opponent i just slap more vinyl on, no need to do all paint prep BS. Every time i replace a panel, just roll some vinyl on it. It makes too much sense for lazyness. |

I finally just got into the movie lighting Union after 4 years of trying. So instead of making $150 a day, for 14 hour day, i will be making about $500. I also just shot my first feature film last month. Things are turning around. I have extremely high goals in life, so I have to do the struggling part as well. things are working out. With only 2 years of drifting I have gotten a sponsor that just hooked me up with a couple grand in body kit, have other people talking to me about possably trying to get my FD license and driving there shop car, work as a instructor, tried the Nopi qualifyer in AZ, been on Irwindale twice, meeting others in the industry. Its a little more than a hobby. i would like to be somewhat like Paul Newman one day. And the film industry can provide me the $ to pursue photography and drifting. So I hope its ok that i choose to vinyl my car and pay some people back the money they have lent me in the belief and support of my dream. That few hundred bucks makes a big deal while SAG tries and figures out if they wanna strike. Thank god that everyone that didn't have complete means to chase a dream didn't give up. |

I think you need to give the people on the net the benifit of the doubt. Cause if you dont know them, your just making assumptions. I am sure if SoapGun knew me, he would hold a different opinion. Its OK, I still love him though, cause I read his BLOG while naked on my computer listening to some creed with some candles lit, followed by standing in front of the mirror and tucking it back, then looking on craigslist for a good deal on a van. you know, typical mellow monday night |

Anywho for those who were interested here is the link on where to buy the vinyl. You dont have to do the sparkly bass boat stuff but it hides the seams the best. I used 2 quanity 24inch x 30 feet rolls to do my car eBay Store - Paper Street Plastics: Diamond Plate, Roland Gerber Cutter, Mini Diamond Plate Holographic i did mine inside at night after work doing a body panel at a time. Dont be afraid to use small pieces just place them so the seams are hidden by your cars body lines. I also applied my vinyl dry instead of using soap and water. The reason for this is my doors are the only oem panels made of metal and the vinyl wont stick to the fiberglas very well when doing it wet. There is NO visible seams and wrinkles the way i did mine and if you happen to have some bubbles lightly go over it with a heat gun and it should come out. I know alot of people are hating on this method of coloring your car but i get compliments all the time on my cars color and poeple honestly look at me like im a retard when i tell them its not paint but a big sticker. If anyone needs some more info or advise on this PM me ad ill be sure to give ya a hand! -mike- enjoy your car

I have over fenders front and back and a full kit. so I am majority fiberglass too |

I dont have any extreme close up pics but heres a few of the car closer up Heres a good shot from when i first started the vinyl thing like 2 years ago when i was in the process. You can see on the front bumper what body lines i followed to keep it from wrinkling and looking shitty

see i figured that since the vinyl is really stretchable i would be able to do one panel at a time and have all the seems meet at the body lines. or like on the skirts have them wrap behind it too.

okay now that i am done sucking off chmercer
and that you guys are done sucking each other off ericcastro - i wasn't really judging you, mainly just your decisions no offense just something to think about before you go spending that cheese on some new parts think about the people you owe who could probably use the money right now rspspr31233drifter - i'm glad you admit and know it looks like shit, i wasn't expecting you to care about my opinion but the worst thing about this vinyl covered car thing is people thinking its a cool / trendy way out of painting your car anyone else you suck until proven otherwise and vinyling your car is not a great start seriously though it doesn't take that much money to paint you car on a budget sandy vaginas have now left the thread |

My main reason for doing the vinyl was because like ericcastro i lived/built this car in my apartment complex and painting was not an option at all. I just purchased my first house this past month so who knows? maybe i will paint the car after my fc3s project gets rolling. But my main concern is just spending $ on tires and getting alot of seat time with the car this season and just beating the shit out of it. I would also have to say in my opinion that the only COOL thing about vinyling is its super easy to repair if you destroy a panel at the track. Also that its not a perminent means of coloring your car. I could have my vert white again in 1/2 hour just by peeling it off and wiping it clean with prepsol.

fuck, if i was that lazy, i'd just paint my car the same color as the fiberglass the kit is made out of and then just spray a few coats of gloss over it. fuck colors and sparkles.
