KA24DE Transmission

Does any one know of a company that makes or sells transmission internals. You know, like Dog missions and stuff.

Thanks.

A few companies off the top of my head: Quaife, OS Giken
The SR transmission is the same as the KA with the exception of the bell housing.

So theoretically the s14 sr20det close ratio gear kits that OS sells will fit the KA since it's the same tranny right? Does the S14 tranny have tone rings for the extra OBD2 sensors s14's have? I'm pretty sure it works but just wanted to ask anyway to make sure. Thanks.

There are no 'extra OBD-II sensors' on an S14 transmission. Please for the love of all that is holy research a little before asking shit like that. I swear we discuss transmissions every day on here and no one seems to grasp it. All 89-98 manual transmissions are IDENTICAL internally. Period. S14s use a crank position sensor for misfire diagnosis, but it is NOT due to OBD-II standards, they all have it, even the OBD-I 95 models. It has absolutely nothing to do with engine operation.

The ONLY difference between SR and KA units is the 5th gear ratio, it's changed from .838 to .759. Otherwise ANY 89-98 KA24, SR20, CA18, RB20, or VG30E RWD TRANSMISSION can be swapped with just the bellhousing.

Yes, it's not necessary for the engine to run but without it you can't pass an OBD-II scan for inspection...
