i found a s13 hb with a totaled front end, but from the A pillar back its all good. so i was thinking of buying a jdm s13 fount clip and just mating the two together. and i just wanted to know the pros and cons of that, and if anybody has done it before.

i can tell you this much....its a HELLA of a lot of work...are you a good welder? are you good with body work? are you good at working on srs?

think of those before u even start.

oh and another thing if they car was totalled form the front end it probably fucked up more then just the a pillar forward...s13s fold like paper

i do it at the shop all the time, for instance my uncle bought a toyota tundra with front driver side damage ......we cut the unibody measured then welded....measured again and smooth sailing it can be done.

Just, "welding" on a 180 front is illegal Not to mention, your frame won't be that straight.

The car isn't even worth that much.

Buy a new frame and swap whatever you have over. These cars aren't worth enough to do what you want.

sorry if i didnt make myself clear i meant the fender well/support tp the fron of the body where the core support would be not the frame.

It's not illegal per say, but it's a shitty fucking way to put a car together and sell it to someone else.

Welding two separate halves of a car together is a sorry way of going about it, the Apillars for example are up to four layers of steel in some places, your weld will only attach the outer layer, making it very weak and prone to flex. What's more is no matter how much measuring you do there's no sure way to have it dead on accurate, so you'll be driving a flimsy chassis that wants to drive either direction at the same time. Lots of places do it, but I'd never wish that type of car on anyone I know.

Oh? I always though it was illegal due to it changes the crash integrity of the car somewhat.

Even if it isn't, I agree that doing such is pretty retarded.
