Fuel Pump not priming..

i understand that there are a million threads about this but i cant seem to find the answers i want. i have a coupe. it was running well a couple weeks ago and then it didnt start for a whole day. the next day i got in the car and it did start aka i heard the fuel pump prime this time. its been a week since the incident, and behold the car died in the middle of and intersection so i dumped it in a parking lot for the night. i dont hear the fuel pump priming. what exact terminals do i try to jump from the egi pump relay? what wires can i snip from the trunk underneath the fuel pump cover so i can just run a hard 12v to the fuel pump so i can just drive it straight home? thank you

fuel pump might just be dead i would replace it.. im having the same issue and mine primes but my car will not turn over.. it takes 15 minutes.. to change one out so its worth a try. if you have a buddy who has a spare s13/14 one might just do the trick.

Your Fuel pump went dead now. The only way to get it started is getting a used one that works for the mean while, or just get a NEW one

It's very common but often not noticed is that the chassis harness running on the front driver side fenderwell will rub on the tire and mess up the wire that goes to the fuel pump. This also causes several electrical issues with the car. Its worth checking especially if you already ruled out that the issue is fuel delivery related in which the EGI Pump relay, Fuel Pump and Filter tested good. Voltage MultiMeter is your friend. GL!

If its just exposed just tape it and figure out a good way to avoid rubbing with the tires. If the wires are missing few strands already your better of cutting it and solder a new piece of wire. GL!

Yes.. If you have a bad connection your pump will not be receiving consistment power and cause the erratic idle.

Yes.. Mine before was reading 11.7 and it was fine. I had to do a relay mod where I will I get the power straight from the battery @ 14.6 so now my aftermarket pump actually performs better.

i also wanted to add that my interior lighting does not come on (book lights/overhead light) but the sunroof switch still does. and the seatbelts only slide up and down when the key is in the ignition, when they use to open whenever a door would open with out the keys. could they be linked to that same harness? i bought the car with a gutted stereo and wires exposed from the crappy removal

Most Likely.. All these accessories get power from the chassis harness to the fusebox on the driver side kick panel.

It's easy.. Also you can tuck the chassis harness like this. I don't think you need that much zip tie like on the pic but you get the idea.

hmm ill have to give it a shot. it is already zip tied, ill have to pull it off and get a better look at how well its on there. and is there a fuse for the seat belts at all? its getting rather annoying having to keep my key in the ignition when i open the door so the seatbelt goes up
