Pro-Am S13 Coupe from Dayton build
Well I'm awfully bored at work, and I figured I'd share the build on my 240sx over the last year and season of drifting in the 2011 Midwest Drift Union FD Pro-Am series... And also begin the build for the 2012 season.
So the chassis is a 93 coupe, very rust free from Georgia. Sunroof-less and no power options. I picked up as pretty much a bare shell in rough shape from someone who didn't really know what they were doing. The full list of end modifications on this car ended up being this.. Engine: SR20 Redtop motor S15 dual BB turbo Deatchwerks 550cc injectors Z32 maf Hybrid Dynamics ROM tuned ecu Apexi intake Koyo Radiator Samco hoses PBM Highmount intercooler Walbro 255 fuel pump Tomei turbo elbow Greddy downpipe ISIS 4in dual tip catback Circuit sports stainless turbo lines Dual electric fans ACT 6 puck clutch TODA racing lightweight flywheel Suspension/ Chassis: Custom 6pt roll cage FD spec Fortune Auto 500 coilovers Fortune Auto tension rods SPL parts toe, RUCA, and traction rods SPL parts solid subframe bushings Solid engine and trans mounts Energy suspension bushing kit Tein inner/outer tie rods with spacer S14 front suspension and 5 lugs all around Interior: 2 Bride vios III knock offs 2 Takata harnesses Nagisa rails NRG deep suede wheel/ thin hub/ QR Prosport 60mm gauges boost/oil press/water temp Greddy profec b spec 2 kept the dash/ carpet and door panels in exterior: BN type 2 knock off front bumper and sides Uras style rear bumper Uras GT WING Origin 40mm front fenders Origin 50mm rear overs Knock off roof wing H4 lights with 16000k pink HID's Teal green metallic paint Origin smoked tails ebay ganador style mirros Brakes/ wheels: Z32 front brake conversion Circuit sports drilled/slotted rotors Hawk HPS pads all around Agency power lines all around Racing Logic Hydraulic E-brake 18x10/ 18x11.5 Work Emitz 18x10 FR500's 18x10.5 RPF1's 18x10.5 Varrstoens I think that covers all the bases of what was done to this car. So here we go build time woooo... Picked the car up in March, and took it straight to getting caged. First picture of the car, as I began stripping it out to get prepared for the cage, at this point it still has the previous owners 5 lug on it, that goes away soon. Car totally stripped out and ready for cage fitting. Good Friend of mine did this cage, I helped a little bit. At the end of the day looking very haggard. Started Collecting some parts... More cage stuff. New subframe ready to go in. Test fitting seat before finishing cage Put a better front crossmember in than the busted up one that came with the car. along with the steering rack bushings. Then the cage was finished so I took the car back to my garage and got to work on other fun things. Like re cutting the awful cut fenders Testing the overs and painting the cage. Chopped up the front to fit the PBM Highmount Tossed the motor in Cut up the dashboard and shoved it in Mounted the Hydro Put some more of the motor together Z brakes, extended studs, fortune auto parts Put my door panels in with a little bit of dremel trimming Mounted a fender and the 326 power wing so I could see it all together for once These tips are large! Test fitted one of the emitz. I failed at taking pictures of all the rear suspension and links cause it was all boring and black. So I got tires mounted... 235/40 on an 11.5 lol... Had to grind nissan off the calipers to fit the wheels, even with a 12mm spacer Then Got everything buttoned up and lowered it onto 4 wheels for pretty much the first time ever... for me. Things fell right into place. The next day rolled it out into the sunlight to stare at. The interior all buttoned up and finished Then took the car to the alignment shop... horrible specs -6 camber front and -5... that was when I knew the emitz had to go soon. But not yet!

Drove it out to a car meet for the first time
Getting ready to go out for the first event up in clio michigan at round 2 for MDU. This is now may 14th, I got the car beginning of March... At the first event up in Clio Michigan. It was a bad day for drifting, The morning started off with pooring rain and 40's with lots of wind. So getting soaked and freezing while getting the cars ready and teched. It ended up stopping raining just before my run group, and then dried off later in the day but was still cold and windy. Had some fun when we got home Got back from the event and went back to work on the car, getting the headlights mounted and then the bumper fitted. after testing the bumper, I new I needed a good bracket to make it look right. After seeing it all together I figured I needed to paint it all one color, so it was time for some primer. Again I slacked with taking pictures of prep and all that but here it is in primer. About a week of driving around like that and I was over it and ready to get it all one color!! So I took it all apart and proceeded to do just that! First time spraying base/clear.. And then... PAINT!!! Took it home asap to put it all together and stare at it with the emitz on it haha... Got tired of that saggy bumper now that the car was painted...

So Then it was off to the next round of MDU along with a small parking lot event the day before... Not many pictures at this event my photographer wasn't able to make it.
After that event on a fast track, I realized it was time for the Emitz to go and for some lightweight reasonable sized wheels to come into my life before the next event. This is when my pictures get really off. I bought a set of 18x10.5 rpf1s and a set of 18x10.5 varrstoens, painted them all hot pink and stickered up the car to get ready for round 4 MDU in Nashville tn at an amazing track and facility Home from that event.. Bought a new house... Moved the car in Bought a Uras GT wing... More stickers, and drove Street Life Tour... Barely any pictures of that but car looked dumb at that event anyways... Went and drove another parking lot event in indy.. And then that was all the events for the season.. Drove the car around a little... Then the last thing I did before tearing it down was lower it a bunch haha... And thats the last it looked like before going into the garage to go under the knife again... Its currently torn back down. Getting a new engine power plant with 400 na whp... Front tubs, knuckles, Interior fully paint matched along with front end and engine bay, hood vent, and a matching BN rear bumper. Then most likely a vinyl wrap. But all my money is going towards this new engine setup... I Just really enjoyed last season and had a lot of fun, and wanted to share it with you all. Stay tuned I will start updating this thread with new stuff on the car as it starts happening this winter preparing for 2012 drift season. -Thanks!!

sick build. it is very similar to my pro-am build, which gives me a lot of inspiration. Can't wait to see what you have in store this year!

Thanks for all the positive comments guys, means a lot to me!!
The paint color is a teal green metallic from paintforcars.com nothing fancy. Painting it actually went a lot easier than I had thought, it's not perfect but its a track car so its good enough. Lots of work in store still for the 2012 season, working on getting my two tone coupe finished first then I'll be focused back on this car again.

Very nice, im building something similiar for the 2012 drift season and plan on drifting in some of the MDU events.
Question on the hydro setup. 1 - Did you find where the rear brake line ran into the brake master cylinder 2 - unscrew that line 3 - run a stainless steel line from one of the hydro ebrake fitting to the master cylinder where you unscrewed the rear brake line from 4 - then run another stainless line from the other fitting of the hydro to the line that your removed from the brake master? Hope that made sense. |

Does it make me a ricer for liking the car more unpainted?
This car is sweet man. Make sure to avoid the walls for the love of all the Zilvian's. Did you sell the Emitz or just put'em in storage? |
