Dunno I really cant stand stock vehicles. Play with the wheels and suspension and nothing happens to reliability. Nice little daily that looks good and gets good gas mileage.

Shag carpet on dash looks stupid. Why not just integrate a chia pet in there instead?
Also stupid, but same idea as shag carpet.

These options are the things that are going to make it quarky and unique enough for people to buy it. The car is all about being an individual. It's not about VIP style, drifting, etc. It's targeted younger buyers but just like the original xB it'll probably sell more to 40 somethings looking to express themselves and be hip.

The tag line, Cube Mobile Device is just fucking BRILLIANT.

Mel, I completely understand the marketing side of it. I just don't agree with the "since young people are stupid and want to add CRAP to their vehicles, let's lower our standards to accomodate them" thought process.

i really like the porsche cars / suv's that have the interior lighting in the door sills, seats, etc gives a neat glow.

Understandable. But again, this thing is about being unique. These crappy options are what people draws people in.

More then likely the shag carpeting isn't going to be in most of the Cube's. But someone will see it at an auto show and they will remember it and that's what'll bring them into the dealerships. You don't have to agree with it. That's why they are called options.

ThatGuy doesn't have to get the crappy options, but the pot smoking 42 year old art professor can.

They can't market towards just one demographic. Do would agree with that right?

I do agree with that right.

I just refuse to accept the fact that I am a minority in my desire to NOT see EVERY RWD CAR advertised with Drifting, and every small "niche" car advertised with gaudy add-ons.

I'm getting older and crankier. Damn kids, get off my lawn!

I agree. Shit drives me nuts too. I think the older we (we as in people in your and I's age range) get the more popular culture steers away from our likes. But I understand that there is a need to market things a certain way, even if it doesn't reflect me.

For instance, Lexus advertises towards gays a lot as the have a strong gay demographic. If I buy an IS that doesn't mean I too want a dick in my butt.
