Exedy TRIPLE Plate Clutch, 1 of the only ones ever made!
City: Woodinville
State/Province: WA (not Virginia as the title says) Price: SOLD Item Description: Exedy Triple Plate clutch: this is the ultimate clutch for an SR20DET. They are rated at 1,378 horsepower and no that isn't a typographical error. There isn't a more expensive or capable clutch, in the world. The last published retail I saw for this clutch packages was $2,629. According to Exedy, their first thought was that there was only one in the world--being this one, but we were able to verify that this could be one of two or three maximum units that have been produced, ever. This clutch is for the guy who has everything, including a seriously built SR. The story is this; I purchased this setup for use on my newly built SR20DET but found out after break in and dyno tune that it was configured for an HKS ten thousand dollar transmission, which has a slightly different input shaft, so the splines in the clutch discs stripped out. It only had break in, tune, 300 mile return road trip to the tuning shop and about 300 miles give or take of daily driving use. It has never been on the track. After speaking with Exedy, they can offer brand new plates and a proper spline mount, which would make it effectively near new. This clutch will kill any twin disc or other clutch on the market, period. It also comes with the required thinner throwout bearing and sleeve that fits multi-clutch. SOLD FYI, the correct SR20DET clutch uses discs that use a continuous spline mount, not pictured. Scratches on the face occurred while mounting only. It has not been abused.

jr_ss: I have a z32 300zx trans and am replacing it with another 300zx trans. Just after installing my new build I find out I have the wrong clutch plates, and my trans has a bad bearing. My mechanic says I am cursed, since I am never shy about buying the absolute best parts money can buy, which are overkill on the street, and they fail due to flukes after barely being driven. I have purchased a sprung 6 puck clutch for more friendly engagement on street use.
To answer a couple of PM questions: - This clutch was setup with ceramic not carbon disks. However, it can be outfitted with either. Also, Mr. Cline at Exedy has all the parts in stock to setup this clutch for whatever transmission configuration you want. - I am not aware of any twin or multi-disk clutches that have sprung carriers, so expect the high level of clamping force combined with a lack of sprung center to make this clutch operate like a switch; it is pretty much either engaged or disengaged. Slipping it is not impossible but it takes some practice.
