The Zero7Four 180sx (Irish Build)
Howdy
This is the life and times of my 180sx - hope you like I always wanted a 180sx - think i seen a pic of one drifting about 10 years ago when i was in my teens and that was it, popup lights and sideways turbo action was enough to have me hooked for life I spent an INSANE amount of time trying to find a good clean standard example - ended up finding this one back in the Spring of 2010 - was imported in 08 and was put straight into a garage and covered up Started out a basic bog standard zenki 94 reg 180sx - SR20DET - was clean as hell, straight and had zero rust. was everything i wanted. never had an accident or painted - just as is from the factory This is it when i went and bought it This is it when i first got it home and put on a bumper that came with it I didnt really know in my head where I wanted to go with it but it wasnt long until it was in castlefinn and Eglington getting some side ways action First two things i bought as soon as i got it Cusco 2way diff Cusco dash dodger bolt in cage After a few drift Days the old Bride was fucked - was an old ass uncomfortable seat anyway So i splashed out and got this The car was class and i loved the standard look…….. ……….But i loved the ignorant in your face look a wee bit more Went and bought these SSR PROFESSOR SP1's Fronts are 17 x 9jj +11 Rears are 18 x 10jj +11 They didnt fit at first but with a "awh theyll fit" attitude i rolled the arches out a rediculous amount and got them wedged in Car was getting some battle scars with a few of the drift days but the amount of fun i had in it it was completely worth it Back then it was just a car for drifting - it took everything i threw at it - i cant describe how much of a smile it put on my face and it never really gave any bother - keep servicing it and it was good to go - drive down to Eglington - drift all day - drive it home (sometimes on bald tires ) |

I bought the SSR's in January and in fairness they needed a hell of a refurb, the dishes were very very dead and the paint was falling off everywhere
So this is what they looked like before hand when i got them I got them off the car and left them up to Marty Coyle (martycturbo) to refurb. I took as much time off work as i can to go up and lend a hand Marty got them split and sent the centres away to be sandblasted I went at the dishes with scotch bright and ended up taking a lot of the ground in dirt off them At this point i let Marty do his magic I sat back with a cigarette and bottle of boost and took in the scenery So after many many hours this is how the dishes ended up I was unreal happy with the dishes but i couldnt believe my eyes when he got them painted, the colour was perfect and was exactly what i was after. These are the finished article with the studs all shined up and the wheels screwed back together |

I also got the cusco cage done the same as the wheels
And if i can remember correctly i think this was us getting ready and going to the Port at easter in 2012 As you can see, a driftday later and the poor old bumper that stood me in good steed was completely wanked Ran with an origin Type 2 front bumper for a while before it was wrecked also doing some dori dori |

SO
This must be the start of 2013 id say It was about this time that i had my fun in it - i was looking online to find another clean one for the road but the prices got rediculous I spent a wee while deciding do i keep this one as a drift car or do i build it back up for the road From here on youll see which road i went with it Got myself a garage organised at my grans gaff and i went to town stripping her down By no means am i a mechanic but i just wanted to do as much as i could as i couldnt let another man do it for me - I wanted this to be something that i did myself so i knew every nut and bolt on it Body was still nice and clean underneath and hadnt been attacked by the dreaded rust yet Gutted the interior outa her Dash In Dash Out |

These arrived after 8 weeks at sea from Japan and i got some Kumho Ecstas wrapped round them straight away
No point in getting RAYS TE37s if im not guna get some RAYS nuts to match Also picked up some Aerocatches for the DMAX as i wouldnt trust a fibreglass bonet Wanted to change the look of the car as i wasnt too happy with the BIG MAHOOSIVE URASSSSSS rear bumper So i opted for a standard rear bumper + spats + diffuser |

Got an adjustable actuator to go along with the boost controller
Boost up to a bar and this bad boy should be enough for all il need it for, car still is a daily driver and i dont want her sittin mental power as shes perfect the way she is. Fitted HEL braided lines front n back (had to with the back for the skyline hubs) Spent a lot of time then footerin about fixin wee odd jobs that were annoyin me and that had to be fixed - changed fluids and just gave her a good look over - have her sittin as well as i can for now, im lookin for a set of rear camber arms as i cant put her down any lower at the back until i can camber them in a bit On full lock the tires catchin the inner lip, should be aight tho, not doin it too badly and the car looks bad ass so i aint changin it |

Fitted the adjustable actuator and the blitz SBC and have the car runnin in around a bar boost and its pullin like a train - big difference to standard .5 bar with a wanked actuator - a good service and change of filters helped a lot also
This is before it was fitted, she was a bit gutless in fairness but a lot better now - second gear drifting on the dry with the big 18x9.5s on the back is no bother RAYS came up as new with a good clean In getting the look over beside her big bro |

So on friday night i took the Notion to fit the HUD
it was time to do this - TO A PERFECT UNCRACKED, UNMARKED DASH - i was putting it off as long as i could but it had to be done at some stage or another Here goes …….. So yeah thats it in and bolted down tight and everything working as it should, it was an absolute cunt of a job in all fairness, there is no real way of mapping it out, i practiced on an old fucked dash i had layin about but still, theres no real proper template you can make, pretty much start in the middle and work your way out - but yeah it works wooop wooop Also put in a set of NGK 7s and they are soooo class as i was suffering some boost cut with the boost up at a bar And probably the best £35 quid you could spend on a car - thanks to Mark John and Jamie for gettin her set up |

New Diffuser arrived - having Paul at Pro-Fit Kits now fully rework the diffuser to make it look as close to an OE piece as possible - will cut a part of the rear bumper so it sits in further under the car, diffuser will be fully cut apart also and made smaller so it doesnt sit as low. going to have a few canards moulded also to sit at either end. Paul is also making up side steps that will attach in under the side skirts, he is also making me up a front undertry that will sit out from the front splitter with origin canards at either side.
few pics of the rear diffuser just sitting up against the car to show a rough idea what it will be like Once Paul has got through with all his work the car will be going in for another full paint job to freshen her up, going the same colour again - fibreglass panels moved about a bit over the course of the year so theres a few spiderswebs here and there that need sorting out wheels will be going Volk Bronze so i bought new genuine Rays Volk stickers for them Heres a few more pics that turned up over the last few months that i really liked The Zero7Four cars lining up to get into Mondello Also a great day for the parish |

Been aaages since I was on this but now we're coming back into the summer it was time to do a bit of work on the car again
Left it up to Paul at ProFit kits to make custom canards and splitters for the front and sides to tie in with the diffuser on the rear, needless to say his work is second to none Teaser pic to show what we're doing |

So just getting things finished up down at Pro-Fit kits
As ever Paul took what was in my head and just made it 10 times better i had a few ideas that i brought to him and we talked through how to do a few things firstly was obviously the front splitter that would bolt on under the standard kouki splitter - he made this all as one piece and it works lovely with the bumper and splitter To follow on from this i also wanted to have sideskirt extensions made up to sit under the chuki sideskirts that would run on from the front splitter Another idea i had was to insert a piece in the vented wings that would have a badge counter sunk into them - something to give it a bit of a modern touch - you can see them in the pics above and below is a pic of some genuine NISMO badges set in For the rear i got rid of the kouki spats and i bought a full 1 piece bumper add-on that will have the diffuser built into it This stuff has just been taken all back off and has been sent to be finished and painted in a textured plastic paint so that it looks as OEM as possible The rest of the car has been left down to have the body painted Midnight Purple again and the splitter kit will be fitted once its all done All C+C welcome as id like to see what everyone thinks as not many 180s have custom splitters made |
