So it seem like all those people who have the track series think they are pretty good, it BS when people come out bashing when they have no experience with the track coilover. im going to put mine in this sunday and let see how i think

i was in one with the track series and a few other track series coilovers. For comparsion, I am not sure if chassis or other suspension setup has any influences but It does feel a little softer than the spring rate suppose to. 12 and 10 should be much stiffer than that. Anywayz I personally have the street version on my car. It does feel a lot more roll on my s13 coupe than the silkroad on my s14. However I have to factor in the s14 chassis is stiffer and I also had ST swaybars and maybe better bushings. Overall I would get these coilovers over strut and spring combo anydays. They are worth every penny.

Just a question for the people who tried drifting with them...
Did you corner weight the car and set it up for more foreward weight bias, or just run them at an even and visually apealing height?

i just ordered my track coilovers off of ebay and hope to test them out ASAP i'll throw out a review when i get mine on. i rode in a friends car with the street version and it was like a walk in the park so these should be border lineish for me. hopefully it doesn't piss off the girlies though.

I've been in a drift car with 12/10 springs. It was one of the best handling cars i've ever been in. It was also used for mountain runs. If the car doesnt feel right, it's cause the shocks suck. The ones i'm talking about were Apex coilovers and they kicked ass.

OMG you have an Opeth sig pic!! I've been into them since like 1997. Morningrise got me to be their biggest fan(boy) ever. [/off topic] Anywho, I installed these Megan Track coilovers onto my boss's S13 coupe, which has basically stock suspension and 18" wheels, running 225/45/18 fronts and 245/40/18s in the rear. We set the damping to 20 front and rear to make sure they wouldn't bounce too much before we put it on. After it was on, we took it for a test drive. Holy crap, only flex in the suspension were the tires. Toyo Proxies 4 tires. My friend weighs 190 lbs and basically jumped on the rear bumper, and the rear of the car came down maybe 2mm (the top of the tire never touched the fender, and we have it set at maybe like 2 fingers worth of gap cause rear fenders aren't rolled). Car cornered well, but going over bumps and such you're definitely going to feel it. Driveways will make you lift the inside rear wheel, so LSD is recommended. So here's my solution: Since I've heard people complain about the Megan Street coilovers's damping, saying that they were too soft, and thus the coilovers were oversprung, ie. bouncy, I would get the Track coilovers and get 10k springs for front, and 8k springs for rear. That way, damping will be sufficient for the 10/8 springs, since they were meant for 12/10, and 10/8 still wouldn't be too bad. I don't know if the valving will work for 8/6 or not, seeing that's 4 kg/mm of difference, which is quite a bit. Let me know what you guys think... |

id say megan racing products suck and theres a reason that the enjuku cars never finish well but thats just my opinion. all who flame me are now pre-0wned by the first amendment.

Dont forget the Avatar of the Still Life cover art Most coilovers system are underdamped if anything. If the valving of these coils are adequate for the 12/10 rates (which would really surprise me) then they should do just fine with the 10/8 rates. The only way they wouldnt work is if they are overdamped(which would really really really surprise me). In that case even the softest setting would be too much damping for the 10/8 springs (which is near impossible). Running with the 10/8 should be fine if not better.

Anyways, 10/8 would probably be on the stiff side for the street, seeing as my car is a daily driver, and I'll probably only hit a few track events a year, and a drift event of two every few months. I'd really like to go Silkroad RM/A8 with 8/6 spring rates, and Tanabe sway bars, but I cannot ignore how cheap the Megan coilovers are, and how everyone seem to love them... |

I got a s14 and was wondering if someone could tell me what coils to get all I have done to my suspension is a greddy strut bar. I like the megan racing ones b/c they are cheap ... but are they any good? I do drift alot but i also use my car as a daily driver and i am planning on taking it to some drift events this year.me personally i would think for drifting i would want my setup as stiff as i could get. which ones are better for drift track or street and which ones are better for daily driving/ drifting.
and my passengers can deal with it |

It's my honest opinion that there is not a single SA coilover out there that is truly tuned for track driving. They are all compromised. |
