from what it sounds like from the description of the guy, hes probably a real busy person, so he wont put too much time into persuing repairs etc.

Back in the day, we had this dodge caravan , and this kid in a 88-91 civic sedan rear ended us.. van had really no damage *well back than when cars had those metal bumpers* and his car was smashed.. we let him go. a week later his car is painted blue probably a maaco job lol.

Some people wont bother reporting it if its some scratch.. a $500 deductible isnt worth it.

edit: should have teins instead of tanabe, this wouldnt have happened. instead they would have hit you and you would be set. lol

Also, when my car was backed into, I said it was ok because the man looked really old and poor, even though he left a dent.

Kind of wish I got money. Alas, at least I was able to pop most of the dent out.

same damn thing happened to me years back. I rear ended a elderly couple in a toyota avalon fucking thing was built like a tank... destroyed my front end completely. not a fucking thing happened to the avalon. I couldn't start my car so they were nice enough to call their AAA to get me back home i gave them my number but they never called... so i think he might just let you off but keep your fingers crossed.
