This is my Sc400. I am currently working on piecing together a w58 manual conversion on the v8
They are good cars. Not many major problems with them. My biggest complaint is real quality suspension parts are super exspensive. $4500+ for Arms and such. I'd trade my car for a nice s14 though. It'd be nice to have a car that had part out the wazoo for 1/3 the cost of SC parts |

I do like these cars. They may be heavy, but got damn they are sexy. About 10 years ago I seen a dude with one at the drag strip running like 10's. His plate's said MYDAILY. At the end of the day he put his stock alloys and tires on a drove home.

Car's are fucking awesome.
My girlfriend got one in sept. 09 to replace her 160K mile 91 Hatch as a daily driver. so naturally i have been driving her sc alot since then. Ever since that i have loved these cars always liked them but man, for having 198K miles on it as of today i can't believe how smooth the car is (still on stock suspension) the previous owner of her car has alot of the documents on the car showing it was 50,385 new in 1996. Her car is White/tan auto SC300. the car is pretty "slow" in stock form but they respond very well with mods. the weight is what hurts the performance but makes the car that much nicer. i would love to get a SC300 with a GTE swap and coils/wheels and just drive the wheels off it. Common issues - window motors go out pretty often. Starter's are a PAIN IN THE ASS to replace on a SC400 the serp. belt tensioner on the SC300's go out around 200K miles. they get pretty poor mileage (20-23mpg) is normal for her driving like a normal person) plus they run on 93 octane. the hvac lights go out, the radio lights go out as well asthe cluster lights and the gauge needles. uhm the trunk shocks also go out on pretty much EVERY SC out there. good luck finding an original 5spd SC300 as they only made 3,500? very nice cars though it would be hard to part with it for another S13.

SC's the next S14??
Found mine OEM 5-spd 54k miles. I got lucky. Don't do it. You will regret. Club Lexus is pretty lame. I get flamed for having wheels that fit and having my car too low. |

I have one. It is an original 5spd. The control arm bushings are shot (common), same with the gauge needles.
Stupid toyota decided to make the needles the bulb, so you can't just toss new bulbs in and bet on your way. There is a dude who does needles and wants like $100. You could get the JDM Soarer digital cluster, and it wil works except the fuel level won't work since the jdm cars use a different method to measure fuel compared to ours. A bunch of parts cross over from the Supra, so you can get the same parts for a lot less since there isn't any luxury bullshit markup.

They see stretched tires and camber and they start having hot flashes. 1. Most of the threads are stupid. 2 .You can find about 0 tech on there. I go to the Aussie Soarer forums more. 3. Everyones car looks the same. That ILL risky dude has been on there forever and they flame the hell out of him for his wing, kit, and drifting. The ones that are cool are former 240 owners lol. Go figure. |

I post on CL on occasion.
You can't really get flamed if you have a good argument. A lot of dumb people on there though; much like any forum.

17s look ridiculous on SC... as in bad... 18s at least, you can get away with ridiculous sized wheels with SC's. Super VIP status...
